I think is very different when someone has had few glasses of wine, when she is tipsy and when she is drunk. And to a person with addiction history those differences means a world.

The truth is - and this is *not* aimed at Gaga - there is no difference for an addict.

If you are an alcoholic, you cannot and should not ‘just have one glass’ - it’s really dangerous.

Again, not aiming this at Gaga because I don’t know if she was ever, clinically, an alcoholic. I won’t make that assumption.

But an alcoholic should not ever drink alcohol.

I do agree with that. I just refered to a person battling addiction, not an alcoholic.

Addiction is often times based on trauma (as in Gaga's case her family history and later sexual assult, for ones, I assume). So when you are dealing with and healing your trauma, your relationship to addiction changes. Alcoholic is a person with trauma that has been left unaddressed.

Rumi said it, and Jane Austen too.
