Artists use hyperbolic lyrics all of the time. The song is a celebration of something that historically has been mocked and ridiculed. You just use any opportunity that you can to take a swing at artists of colour and it's honestly disturbing to see it. Hateful individual. I said previously that I don't think it's pushing racial superiority. But that doesn't mean that subconsciously, we don't have thoughts under the surface that we don't want to talk about. If you feel the urge to state that your race is the best (even if "world" is the only word you can think of to rhyme with "girl" and "pearls") in song lyrics, there's a side of you that doesn't have the self-awareness of how other people will perceive such a thing. It's not in my mindset to consider saying my race is the best thing in the world, so such a line would never enter my head and even if I was scrambling for something to rhyme, I'd just change the line. To think Beyonce and everyone else involved with this song did not have the foresight to see the problematic nature of this line shows there's some subconscious feelings of racial superiority lurking there, even if they aren't overt or dangerous. You can hardly use the excuse of hyperbolic lyrics when dealing with an issue as loaded as race. You have to be so careful what you say in regards to this subject and never make wide generalisations. I'm not taking the opportunity to take a swing at artists of colour, I'm taking a swing at problematic lyrics. Which I've also called out for white artists. When I see problematic lyrics, I pick up on them. You'd know that if you paid attention to what I say around here instead of just focusing on the stuff that you want to pretend is all I talk about. "Hateful individual?" After saying that I'd rather a song was made that encouraged everyone to have confidence in themselves rather than just one group of people? And who's been inexplicably hating one me for 4 years? I remember it well - your first ever hateful comment to me was in 2015, when I said Justin Beiber wasn't going to make a comeback and when he did, you laughed at me for getting it wrong. And you've been finding new ways to hate me ever since. I know who the hateful individual is around here. 1 minute ago, Borislshere said: Nothing new, nothing changed, same old sh*t. I've seen MORE than enough of your post to know i absolutely don't like you which is why i literally don't waste my time with you. It's never anything new. Beyonce makes a song/performance/album with black people as the center focus and you come crying about it being racist and "WhAt AbOuT EvErYoNE!!1!" why exactly would I waste time quoting you? Especially when it's going to be the same responses. You do it almost anytime black people are brought up on this site and then try to make yourself into the victim when people call out your highly racist posts. I don't need 4 years to form a full opinion on you. I could've just joined this site yesterday and your posts within the last 48 hours would've been enough to tell me who you are. "I absolutely don't like you." Well, that's a very hurtful thing to say but I know you won't feel the need to apologise for that. I don't do this every time a black artist does this. Beyonce is one of the very few black artists that's even discussed here or that I even talk about. I've got issues with a select portion of black artists (just as I have issues with white artists - people call me out for hating on Taylor all the time) so of course I'll voice my disapproval if a topic about them comes up. No one had issues with me talking negatively about Nicki Minaj or Chris Brown, probably because everyone else on the thread was saying the same thing. It's only when it's a highly respected name like Beyonce that people want to call racism which makes me think it's more a defence of Beyonce than anything else. I have issues with a lot of artists. I'm not going to keep my mouth shut if the artist's black. That's not equal standards. Highly racist posts? I have never used a single racial slur or racist phrase on this site. Go searching for my name with any racist words or phrase - you won't find it. Maybe you just think I don't listen to black artists because the ones I do listen to aren't exactly active in the music industry and haven't been for some time. Apparently, not being particularly moved by the music that current black artists are putting out makes you racist. Take the time to work out how ridiculous that is. Posts within the last 48 hours are hardly indicative of anything. People I've been friends with here know me a lot longer than that and have actually seen me for who I am and know these accusations against me are wrong. I just hope that one day, some of you will wake up and see the true me, instead of the one you think I am. It doesn't matter how many anti-racist posts I've made (some of which some of you have even liked), it doesn't change a thing. So, I conclude it's other people's issue to work out, not mine. PACGAGA 1,275
No one is reading all that lol. All I'm hearing from your little rants are "this song is too black and I hate it because it has nothing to do with me". No matter now many times you try to justify thats not what you mean...it is at the end of the day. Seeing that literally everyone in this thread disagrees with you, keep writing your little essays that no one is gonna read and have fun being the only person on Earth who hates this song and continuely tries to find a negative out of such a beautiful and important track... 2 hours ago, StrawberryBlond said: "I absolutely don't like you." I get why people like the song and why there was a demand for it. I don't know why people think they need to get reiterating this as if I don't understand. I do understand, I'm just critical of the concept and execution. You can say your race is beautiful without saying it's the best. If you wouldn't feel comfortable with a white person saying whiteness is the best thing in the world, then you also shouldn't feel comfortable with any other race doing their equivalent. The only reason why you would be comfortable with it is because you, consciously or not, believe it to be true. And while there may be songs admiring blonde hair and blue eyes, they aren't songs about race, it's just an incidental compliment put in. In fact, it wouldn't be allowed to make a racial love anthem about white people (and I'm not asking for one, let me be clear). And I assume you meant "darker" not "faker" but kept making typos or something. I'm the one who's thinking outside my perspective because I'm wanting everyone to be uplifted, not just myself. If you find that offensive, either you're not reading what I'm saying properly or you need to re-evaluate your position and work out what you're standing for here. Again, it's the big contradiction about modern social justice - wanting to uplift one group is seen as amazing, wanting to uplift everyone is seen as backward and you need to look outside yourself. Makes no sense whatsoever. I'm not your enemy. I want everyone to feel beautiful. Wanting it for everyone is better than wanting it for just one group, is it not? I would state my stance, but the people who replied took the words out of my mouth. I do want to uplift everyone... it’s just that some people need a little more. I don’t need to re evaluate my perspective. I know how it feels to be a POC in this society.

I'm not a Trump supporter, for the last time, so stop insinuating that I am. I'm just writing an opinion on a song, which I'm free to do. There's no need to go overboard and make all these assumptions about me. But you have got a grudge against me. Every chance you get, you're nasty to me, even now, after all this time, when we've not even spoken to each other. Why can't you put our difference in the past and move on, like I did? You're being the hateful one by letting it continue. And I never said that black musicians have it easy just that they are afforded more chances in the music industry right now and I never said that Beyonce being black was the only reason why people liked her but just one of many factors. And I never said your opinion was invalid because you were a gay man, I was bringing up genuine issues that occur in arguments involving women and gay men and felt like you were doing that. I apologised when you were offended and took it all back but you hated me after that and never attempted to forgive me. It was so long ago and all those messages were removed when the forum updated so I can't even go back and look at what was said. It's all in the past and you should really move on. If you don't like me, just don't speak to me. But don't make fun of me in front of everyone and act like I'm not here. You were the one who first started being hateful towards me and you've never stopped. 20 hours ago, U n I said: That user always having something to pick apart when it comes to Beyoncé especially when it comes to Beyoncé Afrocentric celebrations. Guess what, Beyonce is a BLACK women, so obviously she is going to make music empowering BLACK people. She's not going to make a song including every race because not every race is treated the same....its not about racial superiority, its about empowerment and loving yourself. its not surprising that a white person thinks that though.
