As a designer/design enthusiast, I look for the practicality behind the superfluous. Is form following function or is it all style over substance. I'm looking for waste and the practicality here As far as I can see, these boxes comprise 3-4 elements: a cardboard box, tissue paper/bubble wrap, promo card and maybe a promo item. HausLabs Box Presentation: An unadorned, all-black, matte box, secured with matching paper tape; smacks of elegant high end minimalism to me. I think of Tiffany boxes and Chanel shopping bags. A simple tease before something outstanding. Inside the all black box is the logo boldly large on the inner flap. One sheet of black tissue paper reveals 2 cards: a note from Gaga/family picture and a promo pic/social media info. Standard stuff. Now, each set of items have their own carrying case. Interesting. These convenient pvc pouches make for easy cleanup from guaranteed future makeup messes. Now is it wasteful? Well, the pouches eliminated the need for individual item boxes and bubblewrap. Major plus. And don't act like you can't or won't upcycle or even give away the extra ones. Promo item: pocket mirror. I don't wear makeup but with HL I might be brave enough to start experimenting. I own nothing and HL actually gives you everything you need to start your makeup journey. HL is serving me my first pouch, mirror and glam kit all in one go. I can literally open the mail and start. V nice. Hide contents gif request: Somone put the Haus Labs bag in Bob's hand pls !! Verdict: Haus Labs mailer/shopper design is nothing more than it has to be. If you are truly disappointed because you had all these high expectations of flashy sh*t, you need to stop having expectations of what Gagas gonna do artistically (mistake number one). Some of you are truly disgusted smh. It's not like it's a blank cardboard box with bubble wrap. It is thoughtfully designed with minimal waste. HL has the least wasteful box of what I've seen. You'd only be recycling the box and tossing the tissue paper. Whereas, if it were like other packages, there'd be more filler tissue or bubble wrap and twelve individual boxes to toss. @Admin this is feature post worthy Dreams of you and me are in the dirt. They are really all the same elements. 1) I don't think HL is high end bc of its affordability 2) that's what Jeffree Star had inferred in the Pat McGrath unboxing (who dafuq needs all them sequins Pat??) I started watching before...I had to stop. I'm sorry he scares me. 😞 "She's an intellectual, your honor"
doppelganger 3,933
Makeup packaging as a whole is wasteful and environmentally problematic. But that's another discussion. Compared to other comparable brands I think HL's packaging is clean, sophisticated and tasteful. They did miss an opportunity to capitalise on the whole clinical "lab" aesthetic. I mean I never buy that but I was expecting that basic yellow Amazon package with just the lipstick and stuff inside and have the delivery man slide it under your door so... I'm not talking about the box maam. Those little hard plastic bags are horrid and the actual components look exactly like makeup you would find at a beauty supply store. (Which is not a positive thing) What I'm trying to say is that it's a relatively expensive brand... but it looks like that. Issa no for me. She could have done much better

I take it that ppl use these to just protect their carry all bags? It's meant to take something from point a to point b. And if ppl are regular makeup users than they prolly already have their own heavy duty bag and are not desperately relying on these. 3. And you know that box is going in the trash next day so ... The money is in the product and its packaging. As it should be. In conclusion....can y'all just be happy for a bitch HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAUS LABS Girl the problem is not the box. And no one has tried the products yet so we dont know that they are good quality. And the packaging...you're really telling me the components for the lip gloss and eye pigment looks expensive to you? Morphe looks better than what this bitch is whipping out. Haus labs is a relatively expensive brand but is serving beauty supply makeup... The perfume was created by another company that funded the entire thing and she was involved in the creation of it, so she had a bigger budget to create what she did. Haus Labs was created from the ground up by Gaga and a team she assembled, and she even said from the beginning she wanted this to be grown authentically. Sure she could’ve just poured tons of her own money into it to be over the top like we would normally assume, but that’s not the case. I actually really respect her for doing it this way because if this venture goes well, we will eventually get the kinds of packaging that we see nowadays with Kylie, Kim, and Rihanna. For a start up company it’s pretty nice packaging, and the quality of the products themselves look better in person from this video than in photoshoots imo. I agree with you, let’s support her!! oh my goood, now it all make sense! i really didnt know about she wanted this to be grown authentically. (as i said i see this like a start up project by haus & her, turns out it is.) i really respect haus and gaga and the message behind it

Diamond Heart 4,400
Oh god you guys literally find ANYTHING to complain about Most of you complain/hate the HAUS LABS venture yet your raging about the packaging. JusKeepBreathin 19,311
Some Little Monsters: "The packaging is so unoriginal." Other Little Monsters: "God, why are you hating. It's like every other make up line." Meanwhile other Little Monsters defending it with: "It's not the worst packaging I've seen" What does it all mean if the criticism and defense are saying the same thing in different words? Gaga isn't a billionaire for fcuk's sake y'all will complain about everything.
Bounty 799
I get my package on Tuesday... I’ll do s review video right as I get the box... I’ll do swatches, give my opinion etc all in 4K... as for big influencers... YIKES! It’s not looking good, a lot beauty influencers expected a lot from Gaga, and one thing about the beauty community is that it’s RUTHLESS! But anyway a friend told me there’s gonna be a launch party this week in LA so hopefully Gaga gets some nods from the big influencers, she’s gonna be there. GOT MY PACKAGE! I wrote a lengthy review on this thread which was made https://gagadaily.com/forums/topic/303434-haus-labs-product-reviews-thread/?do=findComment&comment=11558205 TLDR: Products were overall very nice, the packaging is nice as well. I don't really understand the fuss people are making about the packaging. Yes there can be changes but its not bad. The products' packaging are quite nicely weighted too. Glam attacks are very sparkly and pigmented. The lip pencil is pigmented too with a matte finish. The lip gloss is very shiny and with quite a thick consistency. They however forgot my 2 post cards ah it was a perfect illusion
JazzGa 14,620
Wow, they really made it a nice collector's item. That makes me happy. I really don't need yet another lip liner or eye goo that I'll probably never use compared to my everyday routine, but I will definitely treasure having another Gaga collector's item kicking around my house My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <
