I don't think they're trying to emulate the success or glory of any previous AHS season. They just wanted to deliver an interesting idea they have and they're doing exactly that. I'm looking forward to this season, but I just hope it will have an impressive spin on the 80s horror cliches and won't just be a cheesy carbon copy of the movies it's based on.
