It's just another fad of a meme that'll be forgotten in a couple of months. Singers need to stop trying to trademark their lame lyrics.

gotta make some quick money before you disappear after your 1 hit, u'kno

Do you even read? I gave you an example why this doesn't work and you said it will work :toofunny:

This trademarking won't do anything because against conglomerates like Amazon she's still powerless and we know that people that want to sell this are going to Amazon. Now let me repeat: SUING DOESN'T WORK AGAINST MEGACORPORATIONS UNLESS YOU ARE THE EU! capiche?

I still think that trademarking these phrases is wrong :poot: Popularizing doesn't mean inventing something.

I'm so over these people trying to trademark everyday general phrases and quotations.

That's just desperate.

1. it's impossible to actually force this upon people

2. Laws don't always make sense, just putting it out there

3. censoring speech like that is scummy as hell

Trademark laws don't work like that lol. It's not like when you write that phrase police will be coming at your door, that won't happen. Trademarks are to protect certain terms in a corporate arena. So you trademark a word in a given category, for example merchandise, and no other business will be able to make a profit out of it using it in that same category. They can however use it in another category. A famous example of this was Apple Records (the company founded by The Beatles) and Apple Computers, two companies that have the same name but trademarked it anyways because they were doing business in two separate categories. They had a conflict when Apple released iTunes but that's besides the point.

this phrase was about how impossible it is to actually enforce it. Freaking Amazon sells fake chinese products and nobody can do something against it, so why should the stop before Lizzo just because she trademarked that phrase?
