Ok, first up: is there any data that backs up the claim that "the majority of homophobia comes from straight people"? Because there are actual studies that show that the majority of homophobes are secretly repressing homosexual desires.

If anything, I would believe that if everyone percieved homophobic behavior to be rooted in homosexuality, then more people would stop themselves acting as homophobes out of fear of being labeled as gay.
