I’m not defending him but “millions” isn’t correct. He was the founder of one conversion organization/camp, not the entire movement which involved hundreds of such organizations.

I didn't attack you in my OP. It's just that his "camp" set a negative precedent which resulted in the harm of millions and it will continue.

In a Facebook post last week, Game, 51, said he was "wrong," adding: "Please forgive me."

"I certainly regret where I caused harm," he wrote. "Promoting the triadic model that blamed parents and conversion or prayer therapy, that made many people believe that their orientation was wrong, bad, sinful, evil, and worse that they could change was absolutely harmful."

If he really does mean those words then I hope he becomes a vocal activist against conversion therapy. We need as many of those as we can get.

I just hope that people don't assume that every person in charge of something anti-gay is actually gay. That's a dangerous precedent to set.

Did he practice this on young people or adults? if only adults, I have no problem with it as its consentual. If you are too stupid to go to a conversion therapy, the blame is on you

Even if he only "treated" adults, that doesn't make it morally right or in any way acceptable. The people who seek out conversion therapy themselves are extremely desperate and the fear of going to hell or losing their entire family is often on the line. People absolutely get pressured into CT in a way where you can't give true consent to what is being done to you, even as an adult. To label those people as "stupid" is very ignorant

It is the case a lot of times though. Can you ellaborate on why you think it's a "dangerous precedent to set"?

Then in that case, you would have to ban literally everything. Example is how desperate people use religion and they are brainwashed into religions.

And yes it is not moral or right, but it is consentual. Not everything immoral should be banned

Because that could lead people outside of the LGBT community to believe that all hate/homophobia comes from inside of our "group" or social class, while the majority of homophobia and stuff comes from straight people. It isn't true that most comes from gay people, and if straight people believe that then they feel as though it's not an issue to them that they can fix.

Scary to think our greatest enemies are secretly one of us.

Yes, but he wasn't parading as a gay person luring people to a conversion camp. He was caught up in a world where he believed that was the best way. I am in no way defending him, but this could have literally been anyone. The only reason this is making news is because of the hypocrisy.
