gonna put my reviews here because it took me ages to write it :laughga:

Highway unicorn (road to love) - 5.5

“We have captured the creature. Her freedom is ours. Forever” 

As gaga is escorted around the stage surrounded by guards carrying guns and banners reading “G.O.A.T” . Lady Gaga is an alien who has been captured and imprisoned by the Government Owned Alien Territory in Space. This is referenced in the born this way music video in the beginning where we see gaga in space wrapped in chains. I love the way the sound of hoof beats slowly evolve into the song. There’s quite a long wait before gaga actually starts singing, which works well to build suspense, but being on a mechanical unicorn and having the dancers act as guards restricts the amount of energy that can be conveyed. Her vocals are always very hit and miss for this song. Usually decent but nothing special.   

 

Government hooker -7.5

“Lady gaga has escaped. Downloading image of prisoner. Alien fugitive objective...to birth a new race... Operation ...KILL THE BITCH” 

Probably one of the most iconic lines from a gaga concert along with the  animatronic replication of Gaga's face. Alien gaga has escaped with the mission to create a new race within humanity. A race which bares no prejudice, no judgement, but boundless freedom. The story takes some clear inspiration from Marilyn and JFK’s affair with alien gaga seducing the “president” and then shooting him dead. The sexual energy in this performance is infectious as gaga girates to the music. We can see her outfit clearly now and it’s still one of my favourite tour looks. I don’t know if it’s possible to think of the BTWB without instantly picturing Gaga with her legs in the air on that table. Vocals are up and down with this performance but fairly good.

The pregnant belly with it’s navel piercing and muscles is quite grotesque to look at but it’s so gaga that i can’t quite hate it. Her theatrics are very on show here with her screaming as she births the new race (her dancers) They are all dressed like yolks (i think) and though i love what the dancer’s are wearing I think gaga’s dress is hideous and it’s genuinely distracting and takes me out of the performance. The choreography to this song is always a highlight for me. It really does feel like witnessing a bizarre rebirth of the human race into prancing carefree knights of liberation and freedom. (also gay)

Black jesus amen fashion - 7

I love the intro choreo before we see gaga seated on her throne having taken over the world with her children Perhaps in reference to her cultural influence when she arrived on the music scene and her ambition to change pop culture and the world...so her children are actually us?? I love her mind! The hat and cape are a great look! The campy little runway dance….eeek! 

Bloody mary - 6.5

The ambient music, screechy violin and the blue lighting really gives this strange other worldly vibe that I love. The design of the dress is amazing the way it gives the illusion of floating around the stage like the superhuman alien goddess she is. Although as with HU it leaves her pretty restricted in terms of what she can do with the stage. The vocals are pretty weak in most of the performances of this track which is weird because she’s not moving...also what the hell are the dancers doing lmao brilliant. The storyline is getting more difficult to follow so i’m just going to assume alien gaga has now completely taken control of the government on goat and we are all her devoted supporters chanting her name “gaga, gaga, gaga” 

Bad romance - 7

As gaga is a creature of many rebirths in real life she naturally has to be reborn for (arguably) her most famous song to date from The vessel. Wearing an outfit  is so good it makes my knees weak. I’m not normally a fan of her hits performances on tour because i’ve heard them so much and the TV performances are nearly always better...but i do have a little soft spot for this one. 

Judas - 8.5

That solo dance. Oh no!! Our lord and saviour jesus “gaga” christ has been betrayed and captured by those planet goat bastards!! But it’s okay because just like jesus gaga still loves her betrayers...even though she shoots them (r.i.p) I’m being weird i’m sorry. I just love the choreography and it’s the best choreo out of all her songs. Bye. not negotiable. The choreo is 10/10 would bang. This remix always transports me to the IheartRadio performance and that is a very good thing! 

Fashion of his love - 5

The clothing line with her outfits on it is so nostalgic and fun. A cute tribute to Mcqueen but if i could burn that outfit I would! This song is only catchy because it’s “i wanna dance with somebody” but somehow more gay and i’m so okay with that. Her vocals are fire. 

Just dance - 4.5

I still don’t know if she actually plays the keytar or not and I think about that more than I should!This is definitely the worst tour performance of this song for me. 

Lovegame - 4.5

I wish that the tub was filled with that birthing fluid from the BTW video, posters and that one performance on Graham Norton. Also why did she make a new disco stick “scepter” only to never use it...it irks me! The statue of liberty hat is the best thing about this. 

Telephone - 6

The choreo is a really good leg workout trust me. It’s not as good as the monster ball but to be fair the vocals are amazing and she’s dancing a hole in the stage. Talent. 

Heavy metal lover - 9

I don't know what is about this performance that hits me so deep. The motorbike looks kinda silly but i love it so much. Have i mentioned that i love gaga’s brain lmao. The instrumental opening is my favourite and the choreography is not the best I've seen especially the chorus but her dancers are so talented they make it look insanely good. Also that ass! 

“Now scream” AAAAAHHHHH (chills!) 

 

Bad kids - 5.5

“Do you give a ****?” Really fun but cheesy song with a message that resonates with us fans who were struggling through our teenage years when this album came out, with some killer choreography. Lady gaga is her most sexually attractive when she’s wearing leather and a bandana. Fact. 

Hair - 9

I can still remember us waiting and hoping that one day we would finally get to see a live rendition of the studio version and it happened and everyone went insane and yes it completely lived up to the hype. This song is so joyful and empowering. This is such a celebration and it’s literally making me emotional. My only negative is that I expected more from the choreography in parts but mostly it’s fantastic. 

Hair (acoustic) - 11

Her interaction with the audience is so sweet and endearing. I don’t know how people can hear her speak about mental health, gay rights and bravery and think she doesn’t really care because you can tell this b*tch really, really cares and believes in what she is saying and if you went to this show. This is when that message really hits you hard. It’s really hard for me to not cry when I can hear her fans singing along in the background with their paws to the sky, knowing that in that moment, they all feel heard and understood and  like they are good enough just the way they are. 

Born this way (acoustic) - 9

The message of the song is a lot more impactful when done acoustically when you can really hear and feel the lyrics she’s singing and her speech just makes it even more beautiful than it already is. 

The queen - 4.5

The piano is…”interesting” This only picks up some redemption for the bridge which is music gold. For the most part, this performance sounds worse than the studio version which is already pretty lackluster. 

You and i - 7.5

This is the physical embodiment of when gaga said “When I perform in stadiums i want to make them feel like small clubs” vocals on point as usual. Gaga leggin’ it around the monster pit with the country’s flag will never not be iconic. It’s a nice way to bring the mood up a little after I've exhausted myself crying at the previous offerings. 

Princess die - 9.5

Hauntingly beautiful song that highlights her skills as a lyricist  in a refreshing way. Very dark themes foreshadowing suicide and fame. Something we all know gaga is fixated with. If she had debuted this during her low period during the ARTPOP era i would have been genuinely concerned for her safety ngl. Honestly some of the most poetic lyrics she’s ever done (and it wasn’t even released!!)

Electric chapel - 4

I’m not really a fan of this. The vocals are nearly always weak on the verses. I like the sound of the guitar she isn’t playing!

I’m just going to put this quote here: “We were talking about putting the show together, And I said, OK, what if I was someone’s grandma and I was going to a concert tonight. How would I know that it was a Gaga show? And we all just sort of looked at each other and said, ‘The meat dress.’ We talked a lot about the original intention, which was to create an outfit that is indicative of the fact that underneath all of our different skin colors and religions and beliefs, we are all made of flesh and bone. And then this instant image came to my mind, which was from the late seventies, of the woman being put into a meat grinder on the cover of [the June 1978] Hustler [magazine], which really terrified me when I was a child. So I tried to spin all that into a space of humor and politics and sexuality onstage.” 

Shook at her mind yet again. the choreo isn't actually that bad despite that one infamous bit

I don’t know what this means!! Gaga you are such a weirdo stop confusing me. She gets put in a meat grinder and somehow survives. Honestly killed the realism (lol) 

 

Alejandro - 6

I know the meat dress is her most famous look but i hate the meat sofa! And basically all the other meat things (except when she came out hung up like a slaughtered pig that was crack)  I love this outfit when there aren’t guns coming out of her tits. I know that might be controversial but I don’t see the point of watching this when the monster ball version is a thing! 

Paparazzi - 7

If you told me you understood the entire storyline up to this point I wouldn’t believe you... But it’s okay because Alien gaga has defeated the mother goat and now it’s time to invade earth. I don’t know. That visual with mothers face melting is my mood when I've been up all night doing megarates and drinking sours.

Reason for giving it a ten: gaga must have been in agony with her hip and she still got up and danced...this is a real symbol of pushing through the hardest and most painful moments of life in order to do what you love and live your dreams.

The edge of Glory - 9.5

This song is perfect and i will forever be sad that we never got a proper video for it after the fall out with Gibson and other stuff...should have been a number 1. Her vocals are gorgeous and her dancing with Mark when the sax solo plays is both intensely sensual and romantic. 

Marry the night - 7

I’ve never been as big a fan of this song as most people are but i will say this is the perfect closer for this show. I love when she brought fans on stage to dance with her. When gaga says jump you better ****ing jump.

I love this song when she sings it like this. The montreal performance is my favourite live version of this song. Her outfit is great, her vocals her fantastic.
