But couldn't you just wait until the season ended and then pay for it then? I'm assuming the episodes will never expire.

Of course. But fans of big franchises like Star Wars and Marvel will certainly not  want to wait until a whole season is over and risk being exposed to spoilers on social media etc, so it's a smart move.

Yeah but how many people get a subscription to binge a series and then delete the membership? I’m sure there are plenty of people but I think the majority of people would just keep the account cause it’s easier.

I don’t think it’s THAT big of a money grab.

Literally cable lolol streaming is dead.

Yeah but the episodes will be in the system forever after they air - especially if they are Disney+ original series. So you don’t have to worry about recording them or catching it when it airs again. So kind of like cable but also not really at all

Eeew, I thought we were moving away from weekly shows. I much rather having the opportunity to continue if I want. Besides, some shows don;t have nearly enough happening in them to warrant weekly episodes.

I actually prefer weekly episodes tbh. It builds anticipation and I find it easier when discussing the show within a group since you're all watching at the same pace (usually).

It's also easier to avoid spoilers. That's never been a problem for me since I always binge shows the moment they're released but I've seen people complain about this

I mean considering it's Disney I wouldn't be surprised. Especially if they use the free month trial model, they don't want to put out The Mandalorian all at once, for example, and then have all the diehard Star Wars fans bail until they create new SW content.

I wouldn't really call it a "money grab" as much as just retaining subscriptions.

It’s the HBO model which may or may not work. You really need quality tv for it to work well and I have...reservations about disney’s ability to make a compelling show tbh

That's true and if it doesn't work for them I'm sure they'll change it
