Yeah, Bryce wasn't directly involved (we need in Tony's episode that Bryce really has no idea what Tony's talking about when he first confronts him), but all of this stemmed from Bryce. As ****ed up of a character as Monty was (especially what he did to Tyler), like Bryce, I think this show did a good job of showing the "grey area" in his character. People are not black or white. They're complex, and I think Monty's character (along with Bryce's) showed that. I kind of felt bad for him near the end because you can tell that the reason why he's such an asshole was because of his home life. And maybe it's because I relate to his struggle of trying to figure out his sexuality, but I actually really felt sorry for him when his dad spat on him. I would want to see if his character could grow and evolve, but ending his story there was a perfectly tragic way of doing so. Monty went out with his father despising him and people thinking he was a killer. Having him grow and learn in future seasons, sure would've been entertaining and enjoyable, but also deciding to kill his character off shows realism. Not everything has a happy ending. Like this white dude: Not just that he did it, but IN FRONT of everyone?? Moo86girl 4 Posted September 2, 2019 Share Posted September 2, 2019 I really struggled to get through this season. I was tempted to just google who killed Bryce and be done with it. Definitely think that the second half was stronger than the first. I'm glad I stuck with it though. Tyler's story had me sobbing on a few occasions.
