It also shares some traits with catsand weasels. Its eye markings are similar to that of ones in Egyptian style, possibly Horus's. Sneasel is a combination of sneaky and weasel. It may also derive from sneeze, an action associated with having a cold or being cold, referring to its Ice type. Sneasel may have derived from the Scottish word sneesl, meaning to begin to rain or snow, hence the Ice type. -Sneasel is one of fourteen Pokรฉmon that one could collect foreign Pokรฉdex entries for in Pokรฉmon Diamond and Pearl. -No other Pokรฉmon has the same type combinationas Sneasel and its evolution. -Sneasel can be seen as a parallel to Gligar. Both of them are dual-types, have the same base stat total, evolve into Pokรฉmon that were introduced in Generation IV, and do so by leveling up at night while holding items both containing the word razor. It is said to be a creature that could take the form of a tiger, monkey, blue wolf wrapped in lightning, and many other animals. Raikou is specifically based on its tiger form, while the Pokรฉmon Manectric is based on its wolf form. In terms of physical build, Raikou may be based on the Smilodon fatalis, a well-known but extinct species of wildcat often referred to as a saber-toothed tiger.
