I'm pretty sure she once said "ARTPOP will be the end of the beginning of my career" but I can't find receipts now :bradley:

yeah, I very clearly remember her saying that. I don't remember where or when though

this is the state of grace, this is the worthwhile fight

Yeah I definitely think we will look back at Gaga's career and see TF - ARTPOP as the beginning and AHS Hotel/C2C/Joanne/ASIB as the next iteration. Similar to when Madonna started doing films in the late 80s/early 90s and her music became a bit more mature. Scandalous...but mature.

I'm VERY eager to see Gaga's next step with LG6. I really feel like we are in uncharted territory as she's (more than likely) going "back" to electronic dance music but we've only seen her dance persona when she's been not so stable mentally (no shade, she says it herself). She's in a great spot now and has clear intentions with her future in music (I hope). We shall see...

I definitely agree that ARTPOP was the end of her first act as a boundary pushing dance pop legend. Next came C2C, Joanne, ASIB, which sought to endear her to audiences that had previously dismissed her and her pop provocateur persona. It’ll be interesting to see if ASIB becomes the end of that particular arc of Gaga’s career as LG6 ushers in her third act with a bang, or if LG6 will continue her quest for “mainstream acceptability.” I don’t mean that as a dig, I think this arc of her career has been vital. If she wants to really start pushing boundaries again, she needs the mainstream to be on her side and paying attention.

Lucas

After ARTPOP was released for sure. This era taught her so much about the music industry, she started to work mostly with her friends and do what she wants, so yeah

I feel like post-ARTPOP was a definite change, but 5/6 years in seems like a long beginning.

well it might seem like a big period now, but eventually when (and if, tho she's said she wants to do music forever so) her career is decades down the line, it's gonna seem like a small period of time

I'm sure it was at an artRave date, I remember fans mentioning it on LM.com, but I can't remember when it was exactly.

It's kind of difficult to discern, as the first few years and eras really transitioned into each other seamlessly. I'd say a big closing chapter would be after the BTWB/hip injury, with ARTPOP working as a final thematic send-off.

3 points in and ready for more

Yes everybody says ARTPOP and Im agree with that but I think the very first begining of her career end is hip injury, everythings happen after that :saladga:

and Im not agree with somone say Born This Way yes MRTN was such a flop but it dont matter look at Like a prayer it was a great album like born this way but also its had flop songs too like dear jessie but its still great album.

Also after the ARTPOP's flop era she is take a long break about dance music and she is proceeded in other directions, yes there are flop either, but also she is won Grammyies and after that she is  even won Oscar too now she now can come back after proving herself in other areas.

Now she can make new dance hits again.

I look at her as having three careers, pop, jazz, and acting.  She does jazz whenever she can and C2C was entirely jazz.  Acting was one of her dreams and she will probably continue that at some point.  In pop, circumstances were thrust upon her; broken hip and fibro.  She might never tour as vigorously as she once did.    I think the question is very complicated.

I live outside the space time continuum.

Sneaky Oliver

When Bad Romance was released. :firega:

she was not longer perceived as a Dance-pop-phenomenon and became a new pop artist with cultural impact

holy scheisse

There was a major shift from BTW to AP.

The first 3 albums are grouped together in my mind. After that, things started changing, and she was already solidified, no longer proving herself.
