Lucy Balnex 241 Posted August 23, 2019 Share Posted August 23, 2019 Hello, I was playing around with some of Gaga's unreleased songs and I realised that turning down the pitch slightly to a lower tone makes the songs sound more up-to-date, here are snippets of Vanity, Retro-Sexual and Second Time Around as examples. IMO, the last seconds of this version of STA sounds like her vocals from Joanne/ASIB, which made me think about Gaga re-recording some of her older songs. But it would be nice to hear unknown unreleaseds from different eras (also a studio version of Princess Die) and to have the unreleaseds on Spotify. It feels like an aural uncanny valley *shiver* I think we should leave space for Gaga to re-release her own music in her own voice, herself. The concept of re-releasing old songs manipulated to sound like artists' present pitch...that's just too deep fakey for me. It's just the concept, in general, with the world being the way it is now--the fake and real getting so hard to distinguish, and misinformation reaching so far so fast -- it's all just .... Yknow?
