Weirdly disjointed thrash elements mixed with some genuinly earpopping sounds. Self deprecation doesn't work this way Madonna smh. Sneaky Oliver - It feels like this song is the response for all the title track's questions. I like how it sounds more melodic compared to the previous tracks. It represents the moment after realization that you were pursuing things that are superficial and not the truly valuable things in life. lost in limbo - This is probably gonna rank rather low since this song is underrated but personally it's one of my favorites. The distortion/robotic feel is the most noticeable here and it works SO WELL. I relate to this song so much as well (lots of American Life is relatable for me, specially since I heard it for the first time in a rather hard month). I appreciate how, despite everything going on in this track, Madonna's voice still stands out and commands it.
