Second person accuses Katy Perry of sexual misconduct

This is the most bizarre set of accusations I've heard of all year. I don't doubt that powerful people male OR female take advantage of others and over step the mark, but for this story I need to hear more detailed evidence before everyone rushes to crucify Katy ffs.

Some of y'all boutta be real mad at me but...

Basically she's saying Katy tried to come on to her but when she rejected her she moved on to someone else. It's literally not that serious.

Is there something else on Katy I haven't been folloeing up with?

Yeah, I kinda agree :emma:

But I don't expect pop stars to be perfect, flawless models of humanity either so I'm not shocked or disappointed. I doubt her hitting on a chick while drunk at a party is going to cancel her.

Basically this. Celebrities are held to a higher standard and a bigger deal is made out of their mistakes

If an average person did this (even a male) a big thing wouldn't have been made out of this

It's not that uncommon for drunk ppl to do dumb sh*t like this

I'm not saying it was appropriate, but I don't think it's a serious enough mistake to get worked up about... At least based on the details we know, obviously we weren't there to see it

That being said Katy clearly had a history. What she did in American Idol to the young man for example was not appropriate and had a man done that he'd have gotten in very serious scrutiny if not trouble tbh

Wow. That makes me feel so bad. I did so much WORST.

The number of guy that must have felt metood because of my drunkself is HUGE.

But at the same time, many guys hit me up the same way.

I am so CONFUSE

i don’t think her career should be over but it’s clear she was messy in her earlier days

I don’t see how this is relevant? I’m a woman and I clearly see double standards in this thread, “he was just drunk in the club, he was just hitting on her, no biggie, at least he didn’t rape”; you’ll never see those excuses.

I guess being a fan is clouding judgement. Maybe it’s better to admit that, than to make up excuses to downplay victim’s story because that exposes hypocrisy.

I see what you mean but 90% of guys in clubs will come up to you, dance dirty and hit on you because they like you.. when you say no they leave just like Katy did. I honestly don’t think this is a big deal. I’m girl also and guys did this to me hundreds of time and I never felt THAT uncomfortable or like I’ve been sexually harassed.

I still remember her from my childhood, when she used to be the presenter of a Russian game show for kids. Who would've thought she'd accuse Katy Perry of sexual harassment one day. What a strange reality to live in :air:

I don't think she's a criminal or should be tried in court or something  but I think it's clear Katy doesn't understand people's boundaries, especially physically. At times I would be skeptical about posts like these but we've all seen her on American Idol and that Shawn Mendes red carpet grab. It's in the realm of possibility.

I hate to point out double standards, but can we stop excusing this just because a female popstar did it?

THIS. In the post-me too world, you can't cherry pick which victims you choose to believe and which you don't. If not it derails the entire damn movement (believe women, etc).

People needs to remember that we are not the same, if you would feel ok with it, it doesn't mean that another person would feel ok with it,

For example, I hate to be touched by people that I don't know unless I let them, it can be even if our pinky is touching each other when we stand on a bus and hold the pole, I feel uncomfortable and disturbed, so it can be even worst for me if it's sexual, I would just freeze and feel sh-t.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

But hitting on someone means flirting, with WORDS, dancing near you ok, but inappropriately touching, trying to embrace and kiss against your will, I would honestly punch that guy. I don’t care how drunk he is.

That’s how it was described, none of us were there. It wasn’t described as merely flirting.

Again, I would prefer if people were honest and say they like Katy that much, it’s hard to believe she’d done anything inappropriate.

So wait... is this accuser female or male? Cause OP says female & then refers to them as “he” the rest of the post so I’m confused, are they non-binary?
