3, its average to me. The first half of the album (tracks 1-7) is the only thing I listen to. The rest is skippable

3. Excellent production, but some of her weakest songwriting. A couple of nice melodies but generally disappointing choruses, and despite being so "rAw aND pErSONal!!!" it didn't really reveal anything new about her or show any new sides (the deluxe tracks GG and JAD seemed by far the most personal, why weren't they on the main album?).

Looking at it more in context, it was a very predictable career move to save face post-ARTPOP, and very much felt like her giving in to the critics/GP saying she needs to "show the real her", strip back the costumes and show her "real talent".

By going for the whole normal/no makeup look/"stripped back" (how I loathe that phrase) and the more "acoustic" sound/aesthetic she did the whole "personal album/revealing my true self" thing in the most bland, cliché and basic way possible.

Gave it a 5 because it's the only Gaga album I could listen to continually without skipping a single track. Production is top notch. Lyrics are meaningful. Very distinct individual songs but still very cohesive. Literally the only Gaga album with no fillers (not including TFM).

I gave it a 3, because I like half of it. With the exception of Angel Down, I didn't really like every song from Sinner's Prayer onwards. DIC and Diamond Heart are one of her best songs imo

3.5 stars. For me, it has the greatest percentage of skippable songs on a Gaga album. HOWEVER, my favorite Gaga song of all time is on there (Diamond Heart), and JW and DIC are both excellent. So like, the great ones are GREAT but the bad ones are kinda...unlistenable for me. I overall think it's fine in her discography, and I like the concept of it, but would not want a repeat of this album.

The lowest is what?

Jk I gave it a 3. It's very average, nothing groundbreaking, the concept could have been executed better and the lyrical content was very generic like..it was meant to be the revelation of the regular girl behind the mask but there were like 2 personal songs.

Ps: I pretend Come to Mama never happened

I gave it a 4 well since I  felt some of the production could have done with some tweaking! And it needed some refinement, and it wasn't perfect.

My favourites were hey girl, grigio girls, joanne.

3/5

Gaga sounds great vocally and there are some fun melodies and messages. Pleasure wise I just don't enjoy listening to the music and the lack of replayability for me makes it a lower # tbh.
