I did a thread similar to this but i can no longer find it so I’m doing this one lol.

so all you music creators in here, what do you do in order to fight this let’s say laziness?

But you’re conscious and knows you want all your stuff done. You just can’t lmao you know what I mean?

I have like 100 unfinished writings/recordings and I have to finish them create the art. Print sht out. All of those before I move out for college in August 2020(i have all the time in the world)

But if I don’t utilize those they’ll be gone and I know.

so what’s your personal input in defending yourself from musical procrastination?

Not creative in any way... but relax. Take a break and go out for a walk through a park, or beach or just something that is quiet and you can allow your mind to unwind a bit. Maybe do some sports, swimming is great to just unwind a bit.

Instead of trying to force yourself to work, just listen to your body and leave it for a bit and come back to it. Just even chill out with friends. Idk, just my thoughts

Good luck though, I hope that you'll be alright

Don't overwork yourself! Always leave room to breathe!

Wait really?

This might not be a bad idea... unless you want that its 100% your work. You could open it up to others and maybe have co-writes

im literally rolling a phat one and prepping to whip out my Akai keyboard and my Neumann mic as we speak! umm if you're good at mixing I would love to connect. im always working on stuff in my home studio and I am always open for collab on lyrics/ mixing/ beats.

but enough about me lmao yes i have that laziness too but then i revisit my project w a fresh start and surprise myself. sometimes if i revisit something it's like i forgot what it sounded like and I either love it or fix it w a new beat or melody.

Yes definitely will in the near future as I feel more comfortable enough with myself first❤️

Same, but just keep working on a little selection you think are the most important for a future album, I did that with mine and I finished the whole album last night, I believe you can do it!

Be careful with that. If you do that too much the time will pass and you'll be stressed out about it to no end. I'm a musician too, and you need to treat this as if it is your job, because it is. You need to focus on making progress and just working on it, even if you don't feel creatively inspired. Because there will be times when you have to create that you won't feel inspired or creative, but there will be people that don't care about it.
