I don't hate Enigma but I don't love it either. Her wig is kind of off and the outfits are not as sharp as her tour ones. She looks like a Japanese video game character. Would have loved to see the Venus big hair, or even just a pretty blonde look from the European leg of TBTWBT.

I wish she would have added Venus to the setlist and performed an unreleased track like Tea or something or even dark interludes featuring her and not animated.

She should have gone all the way with the video game character imo...

Of course Gaga's voice and stage presence will make any show she does enjoyable. But that doesn't mean the other aspects don't matter.

Enigma just doesn't give anything new or improved. All her other tours showed some sort of evolution and growth. TFBT - MBT 1.0 - MBT 2.0 - BTWB was a  clear evolution in terms of spectacle and extravagance, creativity and imagination. Artrave was arguably a step backwards, but then JWT saw a massive improvement in terms of her vocals and dancing.

Enigma shows no improvement in any areas... it's just a weak rehash of her previous shows mashed together in an unconvincing way, even she doesn't sound convinced. Nothing creative done with the music or storyline or stageing or set, no innovative new technology used. The most exciting thing is the "robot", which when you look at it is literally THE most basic prop it could possibly be (literally a box on a scissor lift with wobbly arms and legs the dancers can't even coordinate). And to top it off she just looks bad... (the fact 90% of the fanbase agrees on this is telling).

For a $100M residency celebrating the career of the 21 century's most forward thinking, innovative and exciting mainstream pop star, known for her edgy and creative looks, pretentious high concepts, and extravagant stage sets, it just leaves a lot to be desired.

I don’t hate enigma, or hate Gaga or anything like that, I’d actually adore to go, and if I was in a place with Gaga performing OF COURSE i’ll always find it the best show ever even if it was in a damn empty lot with a big speaker, so saying people who go think it was amazing it’s expected, the energy and adrenaline live shows give, specially Gaga’s make the experience different.

But I think more objectively speaking the show is just not as good quality as past shows and that’s it, why some people get so heated at that? Like people love to rank shows and to me Enigma as a concept and idea isn’t as good as past shows Gaga has done, it only has like, the robot to save it and that’s it, that blue wig, that neon and black outfit, and the simulation concept that just doesn’t work, it doesn’t feel as thought out as past shows do

The part where most of us can’t attend doesn’t to me change the quality of the show, I’d probably still not think it’s better than the monsterball, I didn’t and don’t like the concept of the btwball and I got to attend that one and it didn’t change my mind, not liking something is fair?? I just try to stay respectful in my opinion

Honestly Enigma is a wonderful way to celebrate her career thus far. It’s over-the-top, fun, heartfelt, and full of Gaga songs. I don’t get how Lady Gaga fans can hate on a show that’s literally a recap of the music of her career so far. Just my opinion though, everyone is entitled to their opinions as well.

I think the rub is that she’s done that on a lot of tours. She always makes it a retrospective of sorts. So while I agree with you and don’t hate Enigma, I can see where to some it doesn’t feel special.

its really good, nice outfits, beautiful music, gaga like what else would u want? plus it the most gaga thing shes done recently

why does it get so much hate? asking for a friend

Because people think it could be better crafted compared to past tours like The Monster Ball Tour and The Born This Way Ball.

We've heard all the arrangements, seen almost all of the choreos, we've seen the storyline before, we've heard the "I love my friends" speeches,... the things we did get was an underused set, subpar costumes and wigs

The real question is: what is there to praise? It's not even remotely ambitious.

I can respect that. I just guess my confusion comes from the fact that that’s what all artists do, they play their hits, that’s why people go see the show. At least it’s a new stage, new outfits, new story, new performances, etc. But of course I respect those who disagree, that’s just how I feel :)

I dont get the hate. Its pure classic old Gaga, wich I LOVE. She delivers something special for fans and most of them call the show "cringy" or the outfits "cheap" :saladga:

Funny thing is, the hate is only on the internet. Every monster that saw it live loved it and its energy, so :ally:

Stage set up seems rather restricted and not well placed

Outfits, make up and hair styling are horrible and dont frame Gagas face well

vocals have been forced and strained

no new music

new choreo is minimal and not good

the storyline is underdeveloped and rather cringy

Its not accesible to 90% of this fanbase

contrast with past tours makes it hard to appreciate the show

Questioning of Gagas actual involvement in the craft of this project (seems she was not very present during the planing stages)

——

the only pros I can point out IMO:

the visual media and backdrops are outstanding

props like the piano and robot are theatrical, practical yet impressive

gaga’s energy and performance skills

The Set list is a good balance between her hits and some fan favorites (which is really what the show is supposed to be)

——

also, I cant even with the people saying we only hate it cause its a residency smh...90% of this fanbase loves the jazz and piano shows yet hates Enigma 🤷🏼‍♂️

This exactly what's wrong with it.

Enigma is all the things fans want gaga to bring back but she shouldn't because "she doesn't do the same **** twice". She has been saying this since the beginning. Innovation was always her handle. Enigma is so gaga it's not gaga at all. The irony of calling a show that reduces gaga to gimmick 'Enigma'. I kind of live for that tbh.

I see this argument a lot and I don't get it.

Vegas is expensive so most people who are willing to pay that much already like it. Everything extra about the actual experience would only make it better.
