People really like to bash fans who give them money and who listen to their music.. bunch of 5 year olds? Thanks to them bitch you are where you are. Be grateful! :awkney:

Ummm nobody came to the Reputation Tour to see Charli perform. So this comment doesn't really seem valid here

Don't you guys keep an eye on music magazines or something? I'm sure every professional music reviewer who focuses somewhat on pop music knows about her and how good she is :ladyhaha:

She's been on the year-end best album lists of Complex, NME, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Noisey,... and is one of the only current mainstream pop artists to crack the 80+ category on Metacritic. So yeah, people who know something about music and keep an eye on it know her name and know she's one of the pop artists to watch.

I've not paid attention to her since her Rita Ora collab.

Just because your work has a good metacritic score does not mean everyone likes it. Melodrama for example. It is a very highly critqued work, yet I couldn't get into it

Charli isnt mainstream though. If she was, she would be more popular. Thats what being mainstream means

Tbh, I thought her music was made for that age demographic.  :neyde:

I can understand why she views that sort of audience as something she doesn't want but it is implying Taylor's music only attracts those fans. It comes across like an ignorant comment and sort of diminishes Taylor's talent.

:wtfga:

Now I'm just confused. First you're saying she's not successful because she doesn't release good songs, now you're saying she's not successful because she's too alternative? :ladyhaha:

Charli is enjoying the success, acclaim, respect and devoted crowds she has. She's doing fine. She's taken seriously. Maybe not by radio listeners who think Gaga is the only innovative pop artist alive, but honestly, who would want to be taken seriously by them? :rip: She's on the cover of Pitchfork, a respected music magazine calling her "the Pop Star of the Future" :lmao: So nah, why should she be bothered by people saying no one knows who she is and that she's going nowhere? :air: You're just not paying attention. But other people are.

If some posts are factually incorrect or misleading, then I'm gonna quote them, yes :air: I don't think that's unfair. I'm not quoting people's personal opinions to tell them off or something...

Isn't Break The Rules made for 5 years old? :huntyga:

She's really a hit or miss, I couldn't really find her interesting, she's a nice bubblepop singer to listen at the background of a coffee shop or a gay bar when you drink a beer.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Ummmmmmmm Without those 5 year olds Taylor wouldn’t be as popular and wouldn’t be able to pay Charli to open for her - there is your validation.

Yes, Sucker is a sh*t album, can't deny that:vegas:

Still, people don't get that she knows exactly what she's doing. Sucker was supposed to be bratty and fun

Pretty much all of her albums/mixtapes have gotten acclaim from critics to some degree lol. Not her fault that most people don't get her. She can say whatever she wants as long as she doesn't start making vanilla pop music like your faves do :pole:

Pretty much all of Taylors albums got acclaim including actual awards but that has nothing to do with the attitude that's being exhibited. My point remains :rip:

I mean it is not your job to police that. That is only looking to start a fight. Which will derail the purpose of a thread to begin with when arguments gets too long and heated.
