Other fun fact, before she made Donatella with, she wrote and recorded another song called Medusa with this instrumental, but scrapped it and made Donatella :firega:

Sorry but this is fake

Medusa is probably a rumored title which was created due to a 'leak' of an instrumental that was confirmed to be produced by DJWS.  However, it is said that the instrumental is fake because it contains elements of Just Dance

The song is also known as 'Dorothy' and was part of DJWS's mixtape and would be on ARTPOP ACT II

Most likely Gaga had bought or reused Viol's remix instrumental by Gesaffelstein

The fake instrumental:

Venus uses a sample of Rocket No. 9 by Zombie Zombie which that song also samples Rocket Number Nine Take Off For The Planet Venus by Sun Ra and his Arkestra

I can't believe Gaga would buy instrumentals like that. The White Beyonce, indeed. :triggered:

I -

This is how music industry works. And Gaga wrote and co-produced most of her songs. Something "To the left, to the left" songtress Beyoncé has Beyn dreaming about. :whitney:

i mean, she only did this, with so many songs, in this album. the other ones weren't so rushed

Cast Gaga as Poison Ivy or Emma Frost!

Thankfully it’s only a sample and not the whole song though (unlike the other tracks).

One of my fave Gaga albums but I feel like ARTPOP got rushed which lead to her having to meet a deadline, and for her to finish she slapped together a few tracks. She was still heavily working on the album during Swinefest. Remember she played the original version of the ARTPOP album in 2012 but it was rejected by the label and she retouched the album. Half the album was probably not apart of the original cut, for example: Venus (thank god that made it, worked on in September/October before release), Applause (not intended for the album but liked by an executive liked the song), Donatella (recycled beat), MJH (possibly had a different instrumental during rough cuts, written in 2012), Dope (was intended to be I Wanna Be With U)

In case anyone is interested and wants to hurt their heads, here's "Karma B***h" and "Donatella" played at the same time.

I think it's cool to see so many people not know about this even though it's brought up every now and then. That means new fans are always joining GagaDaily!

I mean to be fair I don’t think there’s a reason to hate on this. If I’m not mistaken this is still Zedd’s instrumental and the lyrics and vocal melodies are still Gaga’s. It’s not like she had no hand in the song at all, she wrote it.  And in today’s pop world it’s very common and normal for artists sing songs they didn’t write, so she still had a bigger hand in it than a lot of artists have in their music. I still after all this time didn’t know about this original version, though. It’s really cool to see how she took the song and made it her own.
