'Lover' played for FANS! - Lover Secret Session - Taylor Swift

The first 'Lover Secret Session' has happened in London and I have renewed faith in the album

For those who don't know a 'Secret Session' is what Taylor does to give fans a preview of the album. She basically stalks a bunch of people on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr. and other social media. She personally selects them, invites them to her house, bakes for them, takes photos with them, talks with them and MOST IMPORTANTLY plays her FULL upcoming album for them. This happens in each of her homes (and her parents homes), which spans from London to Nashville to California to Rhode Island to New York. She has been doing this since the RED era.

Most of the fans who are invited are in the general area. If they are further away idk what happens but some do get invited. For this Secret Session there were people from parts of Asia. 

She asks fans not to give away many details about the album and to stay especially tight lipped surrounding any collaborations on the album. She has also asked fans not to quote her for these sessions as it has gotten manipulated and distorted in the past causing drama. She also asked for more secrecy this time but unfortunately I have seen a 'leak' already - fake or not it was disappointing.

I mean I wouldn't take any song opinions too seriously, we all know how it goes with the session people exaggerating things, like that one time Gorgeous lyrics were supposed to "cut glass"

Ugh I was hoping she wouldnt do this sh*t again. Fans who are allowed to go there mostly act so elitist and as taylor said make fake quotes about her that nobody can verify and it‘s annoying af. Also that fan that wrote better lyricism than red must just be delusional and emotional in the moment cause we know that‘s not gonna happen. People said last time too BEST ALBUM EVERRRRR!!!!! I CRIED SO MUCH. And then i listened to rep and it was mostly bops and i was thinking: what did you cry to exactly? NYD and CIWYW arent really cry material upon first listen imo.

ok i‘m being negative nancy, I believe the thing about the titles being cool and am excited for the solo-written by tay songs and the collabs. I also believe that it‘s gonna be very cohesive which is cool.

@Ryusei I’m so glad to hear a different perspective from a fan, Usually they never question the sessions or what is going on with the whole experience.

Do you think there’s a certain way to act to get invited to the sessions? Any fan has gone twice o more to the sessions like they are popular fans amongst the fanbase?

sorry if I ask too much, I’m not so deep into the fan ase but I’m really curious

Fans get invited to the fans through a message on social media from 'Taylor Nation'.

However they are hand picked by Taylor by her stalking them on social media. You don't need to be a big account to be chosen and it is presumed Taylor sees more than we know

As far as I know no fan has gone twice and they are extremely strict about that because Taylor wants as many fans to have the experience and it's not like she's releasing albums every month (co-ariana-ugh).

ok, soooo, I disagree. But before that I just want to say we are both allowed to have our own opinion. I'm sorry if I come off as aggressive and very hetero I'm trying my best not to

The biggest problem with the secret sessions is how the fans attitude changes after, like you said, it's like they go in a cupcake stan and come out as an elitist. That is the BIGGEST problem with them. Please keep in mind that this is not all fans. What can we do to change that? not much. in saying that its kinda like the problem with you tubers. they start out 'just wanting to make videos and make people laugh' and then morph into money hungry monsters. I feel like a similar concept happens to the fans. they start out as super passionate fans who love Taylor no matter what and become attention seeking. as I said, idk what to do about it. you really can't tell until after. 

Fake and misquoting Taylor has been an issue in the past BUT I hope that by asking the fans NOT to quote her this will mostly solve the issue. 

Of course fans will over exaggerate, they have just met someone who is most likely their idol, they have heard the album ahead of the entire world. They are literally over the moon, it's what every swiftie wants. Therefore they will be emotional and more likely to cry and remember it with a child-like nostalgia and then convey that to the world. 

Do I think she should continue to run them? absolutely, this is such a unique, incredible experience for both the fans and Taylor. Everyone has an incredible time which I'm sure will be unmatched by most experiences.
