JoeMo 3,482
I’m not the biggest fan of Ed Sheehan but I did see him live at radio 1s big weekend and he’s certainly talented and definitely worth a watch. Well done to him www.youtube.com/jmremixes
AlexanderMagno 10,746
This thread is the reason why GGD should be deleted People complaining about the show being just him and his guitar, when fans (and herself) love to claim Gaga is one of the few pop stars out there who could blow everyone's mind with just her voice and a piano. People complaining the tour has too many shows and goes on for too many years, when they wish Gaga would travel the world and reach all of her fans instead of doing Vegas for three or four years. People complaining he has the record-breaking tour because he did too many shows, when in reality he is able to completely sell out stadiums three years in the run with an "old" album, that's extremely impressive. I don't like his music (his early singles were the best) and didn't see his show, but everyone who did it absolutely loved it and that's what matters. If Gaga was doing an extensive one woman world tour, GGD would be praising her to heavens. Congrats to Ed, and now go listen to the music you enjoy instead of being bitter about the music others enjoy.

The difference is that when Gaga performs, she has a much better voice and you can feel her heart and soul when she sings. You don't get that from Ed. Gaga even plays multiple instruments, Ed just plays one. I think, to make music that's so heavily focused on ballads, for Ed not to have that huge emotional connection is pretty bad whereas I've seen Gaga almost cry as she sings her tear-jerking songs live. One is so much more connected than the other and that's what captivates us more.

Regardless of if you are a fan or not (I’m a massive fan and this tour was one of the best nights of my life), this is an impressive achievement that doesn’t just happen by accident. Like him or not, he’s successful for a reason. 10 hours ago, AlexanderMagno said: Congrats to Ed, and now go listen to the music you enjoy instead of being bitter about the music others enjoy. One is so much more connected than the other and that's what captivates us more. I disagree. I don't think having a better voice makes you a better musician. It's a cheap argument, the best music ever is not even related to the best singers sometimes. I'm not saying that Ed's music is good enough to neglect his vocal talent, again I'm not even a fan, I'm just saying that arguing who has a better voice is not really valid if the music itself is good. Also don't agree with the whole heart and soul thing Gaga has, but Ed doesn't. As far as I know, he writes all of his songs, just like Gaga. And it's actually really emotional, if you forget about "Shape of You" you have "Castle on the Hill", "Perfect", "Happier", these songs are incredibly meaningful in feelings. You just happen to be a Gaga fan who feels connected with her songs, but obviously there's a lot to feel connected to with Ed Sheeran. Plus, music can mean many things, sometimes music is just about having fun and no worries, does that take quality away? Of course not. Ok, so he doesn't cry. That makes the songs less emotional? Why do we think that only people who cry are being honest about their feelings? Some people don't cry, and some people are comfortable talking about their feelings without breaking down. Doesn't mean he's "less connected" to the song. Gaga cries too much if you ask me, she can't deal with her own songs not even Adele and that is pure tear-jerking material. Gaga plays the piano, everything else is an attempt So yeah , I still don't find a reason for the hate. Gaga fans are so pressed about Ed's success, I don't understand why. It's not like his success diminishes Gaga's.
