when you consider 4 million for a hit song that's not bad... if you have 2 or 3 hits off an album that's 12 million and then the album sales and touring.  It easy a successful  artist can make over 20 million off an album. Which is a lot.

Depends on the contract but in most cases it’s set up where the label makes more percentage wise off the music but the artist gets most of the tour gross (after expenses obvi)
