i always thought of BE as the song talking about that one relationship that you can never let go of, no matter how much you’ve liked to believe that you moved on. after BBB with gaga having some fun with a bunch of guys, she cant help but think about her ex that she wont forget in BE

wow this and summerboy are like my favs on the album.... I don't know why everyone hates them. If they weren't there the album would be so one note to me. :noparty: I kinda love how gaga's lyrics don't try to be the most complex and metaphorical in the songs. It feels like she just started to play the song on the piano...

Brown eyes is such a beautiful song, those lyrics, you can tell it's coming from the heart, love the performance she did at Jonathan Ross, if anything she should bring it back, rather than singing the same stuff over and over again.

Makes me so sad to hear. I think it's one of her all-time best songs and I think it actually elevates The Fame to a whole other level

I never got why this song didn't get the reputation it deserves. Maybe it's not pop enough. Here's hopin' for  future generations of fans :diane:

I think it's such a nice song, but doesn't really fit TF as it was released. The album went through a similar AP-style overhaul where she had a bunch of more frivolous disco glam rock pop tracks and then by release time the album sounded a bit more "urban" in its flair (the Flo Rida feature, some of the beats, etc.) even though it's still very dance. It's what "dates" the album for some, I think, because it's a very timestamped sound to a particular year or two period.

SO I love BE, but I think it fits the original sound a bit more and kind of shows how much the album's sound evolved before it became the finished project.

Brown Eyes reminds me of Dope in the sense it’s a closing ballad after such highs, I enjoy Brown Eyes. Don’t understand the hate even if it isn’t one of the album’s best tracks.
