In a context of war, if an American says we just killed 4 Russian pigs, is that racist?

Again, totally wrong comparison. The Palestinian territories aren't at war with "Jews" but with Israeli soldiers :rip:

Maybe im wrong and biased as an Arab but I really dont think the guy is a racist from that tweet.

Racism is a bit much as I don't think Jews make up a different race, genealogically speaking. But you also said it wasn't antisemitic and that is just bs :emma: If it's not racist it still definitely is antisemitic.

They are not at war with Israeli soldiers, they are at war with every single person who supports Israel and Zionism. They are at war with every single person inside of Israel. Native Americans did not view the American army at the enemy, they viewed everyone who took their land as the enemy.

We Arabs sometimes forget the difference between Zionist, Israeli, and Jewish which is wrong.

So nothing to say about these tweets at all?

Doesn't suit the narrative. One thing I've noticed about this place is people only get outraged about certain forms of discrimination and racism. The hypocrisy is rather palpable sadly.

Obviously the tweets were bad lol someone with any form of discriminatory behavior shouldn't be working at a news organization.

Did that make you feel better?  Can you finally sleep at night now?

SKANK

His tweets are blatantly anti-Semitic, and horrible.

We need to find a way to deal with situations like this that isn't just focused on shaming the person, having them loose their job, and destroying their lives. If prejudices are learned, they can be unlearned.

Considering hate crimes against Jews are among the highest in almost every country, I wouldn’t be to sure about that

Do you really believe that the majority of people are anti-Semitic? Really? Do you believe that most users on this site are anti-Semitic? C'mon now.

You're looking at it the wrong way. Most people don't actively wish Jews ill will, but if a situation like pre-WW II Nazi Germany would arise, you can bet a large majority would fall back in line blaming the Jews for everything wrong in the world :smh:

You can still sense traces of that in the widespread mainstream assumption that "the Jews control Hollywood" etc. and the Israel conspiracy theories about how they control the US and all that. It's "harmless" but it's also a sign of a dangerous possibility. I wouldn't underestimate it.

Sorry @Melech I didn't want to answer for you  But I'm sure you'll agree.

We were talking about people having anti-Semitic views. Well, the fact that most people don't hold anti-Semitic views.

You really believe that a "large majority" of people will develop hatred towards the Jewish community? Because, to me, it seems ridiculous to think most people would.

It probably seemed ridiculous in the '30s too. But it happened anyway. It can happen again. There's still a platform for it, regardless of whether there is active hatred or not. Not many people have an active "love" for Jews either. And that's key.
