Economy 52,842
https://www.google.ca/amp/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKCN1UH1CP Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren believes as many economists do that a recession in 2019 or 2020 is very likely She suggests it is a good time to make large investments on things like green investments to fight climate change to get the economic stimulus now and kill 2 birds with one stone The idea is to provide a little stimulus right as we reach the end of the business cycle and longest economic expansion in history so as to prevent a severe downward spiral
Economy 52,842
I always thought a small hint of stimulus at the end of a cycle is perfect. It allows just enough support to prevent a big downward spiral As hiring slows and potential deleveraging starts a little stimulus provides this floor to keep unemployment from going too high and wages from collapsing

Biden is too centrist from the far left but he will get more independent votes... Warren will get a lot of the femenist votes as a counter to right wing loyalty. I haven't seen much dirt on her so Trump's attack will have to focus on her policy.... like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. Shattered 132
I mean, she also saw the housing market crisis and the great recession. People may not like her as a person, but she is extremely intelligent on economic issues, and usually far ahead of the pack on most social issues. My only contention with her is on some of her foreign policy beliefs, but those would have less of a direct influence on most Americans. She's definitely in my top 3 candidates, and if it were between her and Trump I would gladly vote for her.

I don't know Biden's policies that well tbh but if he's more centrist that's probably who would have my vote I consider myself centre wing... Sometimes centre-left if the higher taxation and spending is used for very good investments that more than compensate for their cost economically I definitely couldn't support someone like Ocasio Cortez despite her bringing up some valid points Warren I need to look into deeper to know if I'd support her or not. The only major candidate I know more of is Bernie Sanders and Ol' D-Tramp

Lilmonzter 2,864
Usually after republicans rule the country falls into recession bush after 2007! And now trump! It's nothing new but I just hope he doesn't get re-elected if he's expect a new war which could crumble the economy! Sing C'est la vie

Many Democrats too far left... More right winged Democrats like Hillary Clinton (despite her problematic sides) that are still more left than Republicans is what I think is the ideal balance... Yeah like woolfie said it usually stimulates the economy because of higher spending Of course it's a costly way to stimulate economy not only because of human losses but also because it provides no long term benefits as soon as the spending drops Stimulating with either tax cuts that promote more business investment or increased spending in infrastructure and education has the immediate stimulus effect but also positive long term benefits unlike war

I mean what's wrong with an attempt at diplomacy! A middle ground! Can't we all get along somehow! War and high military spending are things that really upset me personally Not only does it waste a lot of economic resources that could be put to better use (Trillions of dollars annually World Wide)... but also because of injuries and deaths to military personnel (and sometimes civilians) that is completely unnecessary if humans could all just get along And of course im also generalizing human kind as a whole. Some Nations are more guilty than others of starting conflicts or distrust that causes the need for a lot of military in the first place One of the things that upset me the most as a Canadian is that Canada was already near the top 10 biggest military spenders in the world (despite the misconception that our military is small maybe because we try to be peace keepers)... And Trudeau has pledged sizable increases in military spending even before Trump made pressure for other Nations in NATO to do so That's billions of dollars more a year going to guns instead of infrastructure, education or healthcare
