JazzGa 14,654
That is an obvious abuse of power, and clearly these funds are not going to help Florida's government provide more public services. It makes me very angry that people are being abused like this and the money is just lining some politician's pockets. When I read that the woman in the article was fined DESPITE her home being foreclosed and owned by the bank, I knew that there was no interest and fairness, just abuse of power bullying people into giving up their life savings. I mean, wouldn't it make more sense to go after the bank, who has way more money than the woman and who is actually responsible? Of course they won't go after a corporation, they have corporate lawyers and the ability to fight back, unlike individuals. I hope this woman counter-sues. Maybe SPLC or ACLU or someone will get involved and help her. It said she owed $92,600 in fines for overgrown vegetation and a stagnant swimming pool at a house she no longer owned. She must pay in two weeks, the letter said, hinting that she could be sued if she didn't. Including interest charges and other fees, her debt swelled to $103,559, about twice her yearly income.' like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still.
