None of the songs on that album is single worthy except Applause tbh :emma: That doesn't mean I don't think some of them are amazing, but none of them are designed to slay the charts (even if she claimed the opposite). I just can't see any of them as having been popular :flop:

Imo she should've just released ARTPOP as a fan treat on that godforsaken app. Let it be free, weird and wonderful and let fans play around with the stems, remix options, etc. and just have it be this intriguing, fascinating under the radar album

It would've taken off the pressure off of that album. Of course she also wouldn't have made any money, but eh :oprah:

The third single didn’t matter at that point. Every song would of flopped.

The second single was the problem

Sorry but DWUW somehow saved the era. It just should have been the lead, even with the controversy. Everybody from the GP got the said that it was the first Gaga song they loved since Alejandro, and everybody put it as phone ring:shrug:

At that point, the era couldn't have been saved… but the single single that still could have been a hit is Dope for several reasons:

- Piano ballads were the biggest trend

- People were bored of Gaga's dance beats and lyrics about sex all the time

- Many people wanted to hear Gaga cry

Without a music video, Dope peaked at #8. Those who say it couldn't have been at least #3 are delusional. They just want to trash the song because they don't like her vocals in it.

MANiCURE would’ve been a good single choice during that time
