Melech 9,900
The Jewish Community in Cairo (JCC) has regretfully lost Marcelle Haroun, one of its pillars who will be sorely missed,” read the statement announcing her death. Marcelle Haroun, mother of the current president of Cairo’s Jewish community, has died at the age of 93. Her death, announced on Saturday, leaves five Jews known to be living in Cairo, Watani International reported. The five remaining are her daughter, Magda, who heads the minuscule community, and four granddaughters. The AFP news service reported in March 2017 that there were also 12 Jews living in the coastal city of Alexandria. Egypt was home to some 80,000 Jews when Israel was founded in 1948. Thousands began leaving in the ensuring years, and many more in two waves, in 1956 and 1967. The Harouns remained, considering themselves Egyptian first, according to Watani. Haroun was predeceased by two daughters. “The Jewish Community in Cairo (JCC) has regretfully lost Marcelle Haroun, one of its pillars who will be sorely missed,” read the statement announcing her death .https://m.jpost.com/Diaspora/Only-5-Jews-left-in-Cairo-following-death-of-Jewish-community-president-59504 so sad to see once thriving Jewish communities disappearing
geopang 4,831
Jews are still some of the most persecuted people on earth. People love to be oblivious to it though.

Its mainly because they refuse to grow the population of their religion and race as they have strict rules to who can join. Many groups like that are more persecuted like the Kurds but you never hear about them. Jews were persecuted in Egypt for persecuting Palestinians. What kind of victim blaming is this The Jewish community enriched every country they been too and what do they get in return? Persecution. And you do hear about the persecution of Kurds all the time. If you attack others in war, people will naturally try to defend themselves, the attackers cant be the victims.
Gov Hooka 8,008
On topic, it doesn't surprise me. Sadly this is a consequence of the creation of the Israeli state and many Jewish people wrongly faced persecution from Egyptian society and government, accordingly fleeing to Israel, just as palestinian muslims wrongly faced persecution and loss of homeland from Israeli society and government. Having visited the synagogues of Alexandria and a few in Cairo especially the one in Coptic Cairo that is the oldest, it's a shame that there isn't a population to inhabit these beautiful temples. Religious strife is a terrible thing.

Are you seriously here defending discrimination, murder and persecution? According to that logic it would be completely fine to punish Russian in Germany for Russia’s behavior towards Eastern Europe. There were progroms before Israel as well fueled by antisemitic propaganda of the Nazis. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1945_Anti-Jewish_riots_in_Egypt

You do know there are millions of jews that do not live in Israel and are not Israeli citizens? You are just generalizing an entire group of people based on Israel's actions. It doesn't matter whether you are Pro-Israel or Pro-Palestine in that matter. What you're doing is just gross.

Diaspora Jews are the ones who attack Palestine and created the war. I dont support any kind of war and killing, im just saying they were not persecuted, you cant be persecuted after you persecute others. If America bombed Mexico and then Mexicans attacked Americans back, Americans cant claim to be persecuters even though im sure alot of Americans are innocent. I did not generalize anything, im just saying when Jews attack the Middle East, the Middle East will fight back. Yes not all Jews were fighting but that is invalid. But actually the majority of Jews do support taking Middle Eastern lands to claim it as their own. More than 90% of Jews are zionists.

What the actual fork what has a Jewish person with no connection to Israel who never put one feet into Israel to do with things happening in the Levant? Like you defending progroms here, sir, that’s not a good look.
