It's better not to do circumcision at all. As for ear piercing, I think it's better to wait until the child can choose for herself.

Is this one of them? Maybe it used to be... maybe it's becoming less so. Maybe it should. Because maybe we should recognize that children aren't property.

It’s not more dangerous than giving your child vaccine.

As for circumcision - no risk of infants and children getting infections under the foreskin. easier genital hygiene. much lower risk of getting cancer of the penis (although this is a very rare condition and good genital hygiene also seems to reduce the risk. More than 10,000 circumcisions are needed to prevent one case of penile cancer).. and MANY more

Actually more than 50% circumcisions are done for health reasons and not for religion ones. It’s recommended procedure because of many urinal infection that can occur because of skin that is making unreachable areas on someones penis.

https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/nz5kmm/is-a-circumcised-penis-really-any-healthier

"One of the most commonly claimed benefits of circumcision is that it reduces rates of urinary tract infections (UTIs) during infancy. Although study after study has found support for this idea, it is important to recognize that UTIs in male infants are quite uncommon to begin with. For example, one study put the rate at just 2.15 percent among uncircumcised boys and 0.22 percent among those who were circumcised. It's also worth pointing out that the vast majority of these infections are treatable with antibiotics and do not cause complications, meaning UTIs usually aren't a major health concern when they do occur.

What these numbers tell us is that, regardless of whether a boy is circumcised, odds are that he's not going to develop a UTI. Furthermore, they also tell us that we need to perform a whole lot of circumcisions for every UTI we hope to prevent. This raises the question of whether it makes sense to try preventing a very rare and mostly harmless infection with a surgical procedure that introduces risks of its own."

It was correct for maybe up to 70 years ago when hygiene was not the best but today there's more knowledge about how to clean the penis.

As a circumcise person, I hate it every single moment, it's a piece from my body that was taken from me, without me asking, especially when my parents fought  my grandparents in court not to do it, but my grandparents won.

You should never force this on your kids, you need to let them choose.

No I do not because female circumcision prevent women from experiencing sexual pleasure  lot of the time, male circumcision do not. And if you knew anything about men, WE LOVE being able to last longer in bed. So run away and hide in a ditch somewhere.

The procedure has no health benefits for girls and women. It’s done just to be done and that’s it. So no.

I’m sorry that you feel that way and I understand what you’re saying.. I’m just talking about health perspective and that it is more beneficial than not.

Exactly :saladga: It's not even permanent. I didn't wear my earrings for a few weeks and my ears almost got back to normal

It's a complicated subject, but if we come back to topic, in general, I believe that parents should never force their kids anything, even piercing, the kids needs to want it, choose it and fully understand what they are doing, the risks etc. they are people, not fully independent, but they are still people.

Just never "do what you want" with their bodies.
