Disney movie And just to clear up, I dont even care what color is the actor or was the original character. I just gag at people screaming "racist!1!!1!1" in stuff like this, when the exact same thing, "calling out" Disney, would've happened if the roles were switched. 2 minutes ago, PETTY said: I'm not entertaining blatant ignorance, stop replying to me k

Re-read the original story ! what's false? that you are upset over the skin color of a mermaid from a fairytale story has been changed? the uproar on here might be justified if say, ariel was a REAL thing and this was a documentary but guess what, it's not! and the original story has nothing to do with disney and was not even followed by disney in the cartoon so have several seats. KingRedd 3,139
Okay so this whole “Zendaya would better if they wanted a black girl” things is literally colorist. Don’t try and prove me other wise I don’t care about your explanations. Saying the lighter skin girl would be better aka anything closer to white is sad. GGD is definitely not the same as it used to be. People up in arms over a freaking cartoon character. May I Read You? 😎

Okay this is illuminating to me. I was looking at this from and 80s baby perspective in which Ariel was an iconic part of our childhood. It really didn’t occur to me that this story is out of current children's frame of reference and this would be a reintroduction of the character and the story. That is making me feel sad that I had such a visceral reaction, and happy that this story can capture a wider audience. I wish people weren’t so quick to call me a racist. I’m not a bad person. Ariel is just one of my favorite characters of all time, like I had everything the little mermaid. It’s hard to see her anything other than what she was. ⚯͛
