He has a lot to atone for, and considering his absolute failure as mayor on the issue of policing and white supremacy in his city's police force when that's his one job (to run and govern his city) should have a LOT of people questioning if he is really qualified to be President. How can we count on him to take care of things as President when he can't even care for his own city and has failed at his one job as Mayor? 

The people of his city are not okay with how things are, especially the African American community there who FOR YEARS have been trying to get this addressed. 

The only real reason why he has so much support is because he's gay which, quite frankly as a gay man myself, is just sad. Choosing a candidate shouldn't be based on their identity...

I feel as though most of the democrats this time are running off of identity politics. 

I dont understand why no one supports John Hickenlooper. He has a history of getting things done and seems to be a very rational guy with a history to back his plans

Or maybe because he speaks 8 languages, graduated from Harvard & Oxford, was a Navy intelligence officer, dropped the unemployment rate by more than half in South Bend, and won re-election with 80% of the vote.

Could not have said it better. He admitted to failing at one aspect of MANY moving pieces. Many political figures would not even accept responsibility.

Oh please. As if people even know about this. You really think the average voter knows or even cares about this? They aren't gonna go out of their way to research that.

Let's be real here. They only even know of the guy cause the media has been putting all this (mostly positive) attention on him which has to do with the fact that he's an out gay man who's Mayor of a Midwestern city.

Well I live in South Bend, and he has been my mayor for 8 years now...  My step sister is his personal secretary, and we all(my black family) really like him. He has done wonders for the image & infrastructure of our city!  BUT, if I am being Completely Honest, he has never had a “great” relationship with the black community in my city. From the tapes & firing of the black police chief controversy when he first came to office. To the police killing now, with no body cams as he’s about to leave office in January... He has done a lot of good things for the city, but the murder rate + crime rate are still very HIGH and have unfortunately gone unabated!  😐

But even though he has done so much for the city & consequently for the black community in the city as well as a result of his actions. We live in the BLM times & shootings from police become high priority(newsworthy) above EVERYTHING else nowadays... 🤷🏾‍♂️

Also, the fact that he is openly gay is also a Hindrance to his overall image within the black community as well, unfortunately....SMH!  😒

So because he had one issue of oversight, he is a failure as mayor and unqualified to be president? I think not. YOU seem to projecting that YOU think the only thing he has to offer is his sexuality when that couldn't be further from the truth. Your type of logic was applied to Obama by the right wing in 2008 and 2012.
