The democrats still have minorities on a leash, as they’ve made them completely dependent on the government, and will pander to them in any way to get votes. All in the guise of “diversity” and “equality”. It’s a shame that people actually fall for it.

Yeah but Republicans aren’t any better. You have White Supremacy groups and fascists that stand behind the President because of how his administration is treating minority groups. The lines get blurred to a degree because I’m familiar with the Democrats you speak of—the Democratic Elite such as Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden.

Honestly, both parties are heading in the direction of blatant trash. At the end of the day, if you can’t line their pockets then you have no real impact. I have seen how some Democrats keep minorities on a leash in hopes of a brighter future then under deliver. And a lot of that is because they claim to be Progressive but are really more Centrist if anything.

well republicans aren't just "not any better," they are far, far worse if you're a progressive. i mean you probably hated obama too, cause he was the centrist of all centrists (he was right where hillary was before 2016) but as a progressive, he moved the line and i liked him even though he was more to the right than i was.

Hmm that’s funny. Did I say hated Obama? No. Did I actually hate him? No. I recall voting for him in both 2008 and 2012. Was he the best? No. He had his fair share of problems as does any other political candidate or politician in general.

Being conservative today doesn't mean the same thing it meant five years or 20 years ago.

i only said that because you said the democratic party is trash because progressives and elites disguise themselves as progressives when they're actually centrists. i just find it weird that progressives always talk about anybody but obama when they knock centralist policy when he was a centrist -_-

Eww.. sounds like what I hear when I'm passing by Fox News. 

We are not dependent on anything other than whatever the conservative whites want. And no, Democrats don't have the solution either but at least they acknowledge there's inequality and make attempts.

You need to read up on your history. The parties switched since the 1800s.

The majority of the South voted Democratic until President Johnson, another Southern Democrat, signed the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and the Voting Rights Act in 1965.

The night that Democratic President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, his special assistant Bill Moyers was surprised to find the president looking melancholy in his bedroom. Moyers later wrote that when he asked what was wrong, Johnson replied, “I think we just delivered the South to the Republican party for a long time to come.”

The defections became a flood after Johnson signed these acts, and so the political parties began to reconstitute themselves.

By the time Ronald Reagan became president in 1980, the Republican party’s hold on white Southerners was firm. Today, the Republican party remains the party of the South. It’s an ironic outcome considering that a century ago, white Southerners would’ve never considered voting for the party of Lincoln.

oh. i just assumed because you sounded like you don't like centrists, but i guess you don't like pretenders who try to make it seem like they're progressives. but whatever, that's really not what i was criticizing for the most part. it's the "both parties are trash" thing. i just think it's misleading when put like that. one party is pretty flawed, and one party worships satan. lumping them together as if they were equally bad is partially why 2016 happened, because of ideas of how "they're both the same." one is MUCH worse.

republicanism makes democrats look like angels. cut to the children hunkered down all over the border, setting up the dominos for war with iran, the blatant racism, the absolute denial of climate change, and on and on. comparatively speaking, imma give the democratic party a straight up blow job rn.

I’m more progressive to a degree—to avoid flooding posts with my opinions I’d leave that to a private conversation. I agree; one party has severe flaws and refuses to learn from their mistakes. The other party is a hot mess that might as well worship the most evil of all beings. Completely fair. I voted for Clinton in 2016; my rationale was more along the lines of “I’m voting against this person.” And yes one is by far worse than the other. The problem with the Democratic party is this constant backing and pushing of candidates that will just be a repeat of 2016. Most of that was laziness and people not going out to vote as well; or they voted R to stick it to the Dems.
