KNJ 4,170
Why Owning Your Master Recordings Means Everything https://www.awal.com/blog/maintaining-ownership-rights-as-an-artist “That deal traditionally has not been that great for the artist,” explains Silvia Montello, Senior Vice President, Operations at AWAL, “because it means that, in return for the advance that they get, they're having to sign their rights away, often for those particular albums or tracks under that contract in perpetuity.” "She's an intellectual, your honor"

misunderstood 8,736
This is why for years (and as I've learned overtime) I will not sign unless I get creative control and can own my masters. He gets to decide whether somebody is allowed to put her old music in a commercial, movie or sample her. He can also potentially remove her catalogue from all streaming services. With that being sad, let me stream Taylor's discrography from iTunes, so this disgusting pig doesn't get any coins.

I don't get this. yes. if she wants earn money from that work that is what shell have to do. Create new music files/recordings bc someone else has ownership of the originals. She can't decided anything about it? If he takes her music from the streaming platforms she can't do anything? Sorry I'm confused about this? Widows Kiss 7,818
Taylor still earns just as much money from her music as she did before Scooter bought her masters. She will never not earn money from her catalogue, she still has song writing credits on every song.

River 117,245
So once a week he can release a greatest hits if he wants right? It's the same case with Destiny's Child and Bey's father I believe, this is why every few years there's a DC greatest hits since the split.. So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Re-records all albums and creates new files or 2. Buys them back from Scooter (however he bought them at a whooping 300million. Imagine what he’ll charge her) What rights do artists have? A right to a big one time advance check and a portion of royalties in exchange for their art if you ever want to be a singer, NEVER sell your masters to a label kids. That seems to be the most valuable possession to a singer. I hope Gaga negotiated this with Interscope when she renewed her contract
