Lol bye, what double standard? The only double standard here is that no one points out when a child looks too straight, but when a child has one gesture (and that's not even feminine, it's just childish), someone jokes about him being gay.

Right but it’s unrealistic to think humans wont make assumptions. We are judgemental by nature. Good luck with changing that.

Finding ok to judge a 5 year old child based on a gesture, when most children move in a flaunty way, is just weird.

I think Victoria of Sweden, heir apparent, has also shown LGBT friendly attitudes, and the King of Netherlands as well!!

Overall European royal families have shown their support, which probably contributed to Europe being perceived as a LGBT friendly continent (not that it is fully, there are still lots of homophobic attacks like the one in London, and lots of people still are uncomfortable with the community, but I understand that Europe has a better reputation? I don't doubt it tbh, every week there's a headline about some problem in the USA regarding gays or blacks or jews or anyone, but Canada though looks very friendly).

European monarchies are respected and work just fine though  UK is a constitutional monarchy. Not sure if you know how monarchy works in the UK, but it's not a Middle Ages thing where they rule  in fact, politics is a mess because of the Parties and the House, not the Royal Family.

Lots of political studies are starting to realise, in the light of the recent movements in politics, that Royals families can actually be a benefit as symbols of nationalism and stability. It's like that piece of History that defines your country with its very own culture and won't let you forget who you are, where you come from and what you aim for.

 

Most of the best countries in Europe (those considered having the best quality of life, including social and economic status) have monarchies, so that should tell you something. The ones that are messy are exactly the ones that no longer have kings (Germany is the only exception, the only, so one out of forty).

 

So, concluding: the most progressive countries have monarchies  bye
