I wasn't gonna make this thread originally but the Madonna thread with the pulse shooting kind of reminded me of whenever people nowadays would say Taylor is exploiting the LGBT community to sell songs and whatnot. I think other songs were mostly about acceptance and dealing with the dark side of being an LGBTQ+ so I like the fact that Taylor brought the happy side of being LGBTQ+, it's not always needs to be serious, dark and heavy.. At the time BTW was out, 2011, putting the “no matter gay straight or bi” lyrics was a huge deal on the radio. It wasn’t cool then to be as open about it. And Gaga literally divided people’s views of her during that period. It was ballsy. Same with Madonna doing it way back in the day.
