Court cases can be a lengthy process, mostly because the police have to finish their investigation before they will prosecute in court. There were probably hundreds of videos of every angle of the incident, hundreds of witness testimony, not to mention they court has to find jurors that aren't tainted by details of the case from the news.

I understand this if there is not enough evidence and they need to investigate for months. But this case we already know what happened I dont even think the criminal denies anything!

Yes but the prosecutor needs to get the best case possible, which still takes time. Last thing you want to do is go up with what you consider a lot of evidence, and a jury doesn't think it's enough. They you can never try again, and they get off scott-free.
