Morphine Prince 109,682
Just to remind some people who may not remember: On May 29, Mueller resigned from the DOJ and read a statement outlining his conclusions about the report and said he would not touch on the subject again. He has been subpoenaed and will testify next month. This should be interesting.

Guest
If we already have 100% proof of obstruction of justice and congress is the only way to impeach him, how will Mueller help? he will tell us what we already know? and then what?

Bonkers 30,860
I want someone to quote the horrible things Trump has said about him because I really want to see if he truly didn't care. And what he has to say about it. Remember to like and subscribe, and click on the bell icon to get the latest updates

The testimony will take up hours of TV on news & normal channels and broadcast the report to Americans is clear terms. It helps inform the public as well as puts it squarely in front of congress. Some of the country is disgusted by the way in which Nancy Pelosi is conducting herself... Insisting that she wants to put Trump behind bars while concurrently doing nothing to make that happen. Perhaps having Mueller himself spell out, on national television, the damning case of Obstruction of Justice against Trump might start to change the public opinion and therefore the support for impeachment in both the house and the senate. And that's if Mueller simply repeats what he wrote in his report. If his testimony adds color to this already damning and, just looking at the evidence, indictable Obstruction case, that would be quite the incredible bonus! Mueller will be asked, "If the OLC memo preventing charges against a sitting POTUS didn't exist, would you have indicted the President?" If Mueller simply does not answer, little will change, although I believe the rest of his testimony will be extremely powerful in changing public opinion in regard to impeachment. If Mueller answers "yes," then impeachment seems imminent, barring embarrassing cowardice on the part of Pelosi. Mueller will not answer no. Quote me, I've read the report. There's no way he's going to testify that the evidence itself (ignoring OLC guidance) is insufficient to indict the Trump. I think this will be a win any way you slice it. Edit: This is just on the obstruction side. I believe the conspiracy side is equally damning and impeachable, but as Mueller stated, the conduct described in the report does not rise to the level of criminality. I suggest that Dems stick with Obstruction as it is an air-tight case that rises to the level of criminality, unlike conspiracy.

With constant misinformation about the report (literally lying about what the report says) being spread by Republican politicians and the Trump administration, a live, televised hearing will not only help straighten the facts but also help spread them to the public. As in past hearings (especially indictment hearings for sitting presidents), these public hearings often sway the public's opinions drastically. I can't wait for people to start claiming obstruction isn't an impeachable offense, when it has been for past presidents and high profile celebrities who have been jailed in the past. On the topic of conspiracy, if they do put any focus on it I would hope they would put focus on the fact that the report literally said they couldn't carry out a full investigation into conspiracy because of obstruction from the Trump administration (not to mention that Trump Jr should be sitting in a jail cell right now, and only got away with it by being the president's son). YES. THIS. I've seen many prosecutors mention this, and I agree so much as a current law student myself. Mueller said (and I may be paraphrasing) that there are gaps in the conspiracy evidence due to the Trump cronies' obstruction. The conspiracy case was close to the level of criminality, but it fell just short. Imagine what the outcome may have been if Mueller was able to obtain the full story. I think the evidence that Trump invited a hack against our country and then tried to end the investigation into that hack is so utterly damning and falls underneath BOTH the conspiracy and obstruction volumes. It's the double whammy. Donald Trump didn't care about the well-being of our country and encouraged a malicious attack on it in order to become President. Then with his new-found powers as President, he attempted to end the investigation into this foreign, hostile attack. If that's not enough to impeach someone, in addition to the campaign finance crimes (SDNY), our country is headed in a scary and dark direction. I still don't understand how Don Jr wasn't charged with making false statements to Congress. So weird. Cohen surely was charged! And now he's serving time in prison!
