In all those decades, none of her characters have been openly lgb and she has not made any comments in support of transgender people and has liked several transphobic comments “accidentally.”

Who is actually in their right mind in this situation?

How do you explain the success of the Potter books with the LGBT community? There's a thing called symbolism, but of course I wouldn't expect social media people to understand what's not right in front of their noses.

I don't understand how such an inaccurate source has still not caused this thread to be closed when GGD strives to be very accurate when it comes world/entertainment news (cc: @Haroon @PartySick @HausOfMark; sorry for the tags, but i'm sure reports have been made and I will make sure to send one right now).

I didn't realize that lgbt people could only like lgbt content.

Heralding straight people as lgbt activist because they don't hate with a fervor? Now that's just sad.

You can't argue with the fact Potter has had particular success with kids who felt they didn't fit in, so that's precisely my point: I personally didn't need a blatant LGBT representation in those books to resonate with them. In spite of it, I believe it made Rowling's stance about all forms of bigotry pretty clear. I'm not sure what fight you're trying to fight here.

She has clearly not made her opinion on transgender rights clear.

Unless she has, and I have missed it? Do you have quotes showing her thoughts on transgender rights?

Then IMO it should be talk about transphobia and twitter, without JK's name to it honestly.

The amount of effort you put into protecting her honestly... JK Rowling isn't an untouchable god-like being.

There's been no word by JK of this situation and everything more or less just speculation. I follow people and while I don't agree with all their stuff there are some stuff I like. I  mean in real life I'm friends with right wing republicans and Trump supporters. That make me a racist, xenophobic and internalized homophobe? No it doesn't :ohwell:
