Trump accused the Federal Reserve if acting like a child by refusing to cut rates.

Trump has consistently criticized the US Central Bank for having rates too high in his opinion and has repeatedly called for cuts

Despite a general rule that Central Banks are independent and World Leaders in most Countries (including the US) are not supposed to comment or try to sway their Central Banks, Trump has chosen to do otherwise

It should be worth noting that these rates Trump is calling "too high" are still very low by historical standards and that Trump himself made the opposite criticism of rates being too low during campaigning

Yes. And higher rates are needed when the economy strengthens to prevent asset bubbles

Some economists argue the hikes if anything weren't aggressive enough and that rates are still low enough that they have Inflated stock price bubbles and maybe even real estate bubbles in some of the hottest markets (tho not as bad as 2007)

Rates right now are at a range of 2.25% to 2.5%. in the past it was often 4% to 6% so this is still low just not the 0% emergency lows of 2008

The stronger the economy is, the higher rates need to be to keep things sustainable and Inflation in check

Trump wants more growth now without being concerned of the consequences later. That's why he wants lower rates. DESPICABLE!

Mister G

He’s trying to create a crisis so that he can magically save the day and brag about how awesome he is and there won’t ever be another president like him. Thank u, next. This dude is trash. Someone give him an “Economics for Dummies” book.

Yep. He wants it for the election. A healthy economy is the only thing he can run on. Where are the coal jobs? Where is the better healthcare plan? Where is the tax cuts for the middle class?
