Sorry if its an ignorant question There are certain situations where a vaccine is nedded (if you travel to a tropical country, if you interact with a lot of wild animals, when you get bite by a dog/ cat/ other animal or when you hurt yourself with something rusted etc) but other than than no vaccine is mandatory for an adult. Don't get me wrong I'm not anti Vax But doctors in my 1st world nations are known to prescribe more meds than is really necessary and meds do have side effects that sometimes aren't worth it in cases you don't really need it Also all the time after many years they discover certain medications or treatments have likely links to issues later in life that before they weren't aware and by the time ppl develop these issues, too late! Some parents don't "agree" with antibiotics, even if their child literally has an infection that can be cured with them. The only difference between taking antibiotics and getting a vaccine is that only take antibiotics when you already have the infection. Unlike vaccines, antibiotics can strengthen a bacteria (or even viruses in some cases) to super bugs if taken without a bacteria infection, or a dose hasn't been completed. Basically, the bacteria can build up a nice resistance to antibiotics (if not completed or used properly); which in turn makes the offspring of that bacteria resistant to treatment. I have mixed feelings about antibiotics If they are really necessary they should be used but I also think they should only be used when it's a very dangerous infection that can turn ugly or when an infection isn't going away on its own Cuz it's not just about bacteria building resistance...
