TheRealJT 2,291
Rewatched Gaga’s Super Bowl performance today and Million Reasons seems really out of place. At the time, it made sense. Gaga was in the middle of her Joanne era so it made sense that she would promote a song from the album. And it helped a lot! It made Million Reasons semi relevant and surged it into the top 5. But was it worth it? With Shallow being a monster ballad hit and Joanne (WDYTYG) winning a Grammy, it looks like Million Reasons was forgotten. The super bowl show saluted Gaga’s legacy, with all her big iconic hits... and then Million Reasons. Performing that song only had short term gains and kind of dampens the iconicness of the Gaga super bowl performance every year. If she wanted a piano ballad an acoustic version of Edge of Glory would of fit better or even Speechless. Watching the show now in 2019 and seeing her perform Million Reasons kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth (not to be over dramatic) it just doesn’t fit in the set list of iconic Gaga songs. Million Reasons is a great song! But it didn’t belong in Gaga’s halftime show. What do you guys think? Was performing Million Reasons worth the short term benefits? or is it a stain on the legacy of that performance?
RudraCNG 15,221
I would've replaced Million Reasons with Yoü and I, but that's because i really dislike MR And tbh I think Yoü and I is her "signature" ballad (or at least it was until Shallow came out). KatieJudasGaga4 67,907
I disagree. The GP loves MR and she needed to perform one Joanne song, since its was during the Joanne era and I feel like people loved her performance. IMO, I think she shouldn't have performed Telephone. Its one of my top 5 songs from her and I love it, but she should've performed Applause, so she could've sang at least 1 song from each album.
holy scheisse 22,321
I loved million reasons there. It slowed down the whole show and became intimate for a moment. If she did a different ballad I would've been disappointed that she didn't perform anything from her 2 newest albums tbh. Justice for perfect illusion and applause tho

How could I forget about You and I!? That would of worked as well! 9 minutes ago, holy scheisse said: I loved million reasons there. It slowed down the whole show and became intimate for a moment. Justice for perfect illusion and applause tho I remember hearing Perfect Illusion for the first time and thinking it would be an incredible half time show stadium song. But I like the direction she went for the show. Focusing on her iconic hits that the gp knew (and Million Reasons)
Madame Goo Goo 3,933
I think Million Reasons fits because it became one of her biggest songs and most of the GP knows Million Reasons. Lady Gaga doesn't owe us anything
James Gibson 3,529
People at the time thought she sang few Joanne songs and losing promo opportunity lol MR was necessary at the time and helped the song. Fans would be mad and it would look stupid not to promote nothing from your new album. Besides that, performing MR is what prevented Gaga from having an album without a top 10 hit I would really take out Telephone. Gaga in the past said she didn't like the song that much so I was surprised when she sang. Idk I would include it only if Beyonce could perform together. McYves 1,612
I mean, it is what it is, right? We can't change the past. I think she should have performed Perfect Illusion instead of Bad Romance. I'm so sick and tired of Bad Romance ! BUT the SuperBowl show was BRILLIANT and Million Reasons was a cute emotional moment so, it's OK. Don't wanna kiss, don't wanna touch, just drink my ****ing coffee and watch 90's cartoons and hush

Lol is that sarcasm? Today Million Reasons isn’t even the top 10 of hit Gaga songs. It’s under Applause and You and I. Praying by Kesha really overshadowed it
imitalian 3,163
She should have done Applause instead of Telephone or even Just Dance. JUSTICE FOR ARTPOP

JUSTICE FOR ARTPOP Ehh I don’t think the world wanted an ARTPOP song. But Applause definitely would fit in her little intro before she shouts, “IM ON THE EDGE”
sipthistea 21,099
It made sense as it was a clear message towards migration politics. People have million reasons to leave the country (Racism, segregation, intolerance), but at the end just one good choice is necessary to stay. ImTired 3,955
I like it. The waving torches, the emotion, "hi mom, hi dad". I think it fits perfectly.
27monster27 13,657
The only thing that should have happened was this: unless she could have gotten Beyonce, she should have performed Applause in place of telephone. he/him/his

I always skip over the Telephone and Just Dance parts. They are the dullest parts of the show.
