Can we give @davflz an :applause: for pointing out facts!

lol thank you :kara:

This forum has really become my outlet for talking about social topics lately:laughga: I really appreciate this site and how it's actually kind of a great general discussion place that is (mostly :huntyga: ) devoid of trolls and genuinely hateful people. People on here have very great perspectives and insights :vegas:

Of course...most gay people deny before coming out...idk why people are shocked a Male pop star run by label heads and with 99% girl fans would also not do the same

If he really is tho, I am thinking more about his family. The fact he is raised in religious family might affect his present and future decisions.

Of course...its always rooted in religion making it a problem and then parents and people think it's wrong...

I'm tagging you guys aswell since you liked these posts :spin:

Just want to tell this to as many people as possible since I am quite passionate about the subject :spin:

Please don't see this message as any sort of attack, I understand why you said it.  I have said many insensitive things without realizing it and I would've loved for someone to explain me clearly and logically why it can be an issue.

Take care

Hello Darlings,

I hope you can have the time to watch this video and realize how saying something like this can be pretty problematic and triggering for people, ( I know this as I'm one of people triggered lol).

I feel like watching this 45 minute video although time consuming will help you perfectly understand the issues with this and hopefully prevent you from saying anything like it in the future.

Also its a great and really entertaining watch hahah.

If you don't have time or if still after watching you don't understand feel free to send me a DM and we can talk about it!!

Take care! :kara:

I understand the issues, I’m a gay man. But I still thought he was already out :ladyhaha:

'i wanted to see myself represented in the media and maybe i wouldn't have been so alone' - is it just me or anyone else never felt that way?

to me, having someone like gaga (a talented kind powerful woman) means more to me than having a gay man represented.

anyone else?

yup, maybe it’s just different people have different wants/needs but I guess we’re the few who just don’t really feel the need to be represented in the media.

but of course it’s still cool to see a gay couple expressing their love in a movie/show etc.

I get your point, and when I came out it was my case too, but it is a fact the we need more LGBT+ representation in the media to encourage more kids to come into terms with their identity (I don't know I worded this correctly, apologizes if not)

Big part of lgbtphobia it's not caused only because of religion but also because of ignorance and lack of representation, so I do agree with his statement. I know we finally are getting somewhere when it comes to representation but that's pretty recent and there still is a lot of ridiculization and stigmatization when it comes to LGBT+ figures (or at least that's what it seems in the enviroment I'm living) and that definitely has to change.

Also,as a side note, Gaga herself is LGBT+ representation, even tho media tends to ignore or erase that.

You watched a video in which a gay man talks about the many years it took him to come to terms with his sexuality, including a suicide attempt, and you thought a catty comment about his effeminate mannerisms was the way to go?

Happy Pride I guess.

Seriously guys? You really thought he was gay just because how he talks and how he dresses. I'm really disappointed with this website.
