YouTube decides that homophobic harassment does not violate its policies

"Free speech" in this context is simply an American principle. The actual first amendment of the United States constitution is about congress making no law to limit speech. YouTube can do whatever it wants. YouTube is not congress. Your content being removed from the internet ... or even you being censored entirely by the entirety of the internet would NOT have ANYTHING to do with free speech because what you're doing is STILL LEGAL you are simply facing the consequences of your actions. If the government decides that you should go to jail for what you're saying then get at me with the free speech argument.

It's tricky, because it can hit us back.. limiting any kind of free speech is like a boomerang, at some point it'll limit yours by the same rules that you limited others.

So I say, let them talk and talk, the people who listens to them are the people who thinks the same anyway, it's pretty much hopeless.. if we censor them, we didn't changed their mind, we just kept them silent and it's not the way to fight things.

You'd care if you'd be the one who is affected. If somebody today started obsessively uploading multiple videos, mocking YOU, YOUR sexuality, using YOUR legal name, YOUR occupation and the name of the company you work for, potentially even the name of the schools you attended and actual real life pictures of you (and your family and friends), it would be totally fine to stay on YouTube forever. And you could not do anything about it. That's what's f*cked up.

I mean Instagram isn't any good either. I've literally reported "comedian" videos of non-Asian making squinty eyes as well as people saying "ch!nky" in the comments. And yet Instagram didn't find that it broke any rules.....

As for YouTube we've known they don't care. We know that they age restrict LGBTQ videos too. And take them down. Same with Instagram....

This sets a very bad precedent and is a win for homophobia/Trump/etc. Remember, we're in the anti-PC movement.
