I gave you a literal example. If you aren't interested in discussing it, then don't bother responding.

But you gave a random example that has nothing to do with what I said  :wtf:  Since you wanna talk about Latinos, what about the thousands of verbs and adjectives in their language (Spanish, Portuguees etc)? You do realise you are speaking the language differently if you are a male or female?

Es solo una paja entre colegas

Okay now I'm confused, weren't we discussing non-binary people? And now you are talking about something totally diffferent    If you are non-binary you don't even think you were born as male or female, there is no SEX, they think that's something the society taught us  and that in reality there shouldn't be "males" or "females".

My "false problem" ? Excuse me, I'm just trying to understand it, and you are not offering any explanation and only calling me out for comparing those people to animals? Really  :wtf: Like, at least I'm expressing my opinion and want to be educated and all you do is act like you are right without giving any reasonable and valid response.

I simply said anyone can identify as they want to and used elephant as an example. Could've said male, female, child, old person, a truck, a wall etc but if they want to be fully accepted by the society and for the society to reffer to them using certain words I wanna know how exactly does that work. Let's say I'm non-binary, how am I supposed to speak in my native language? Use the female or male verbs/adjectives?

Non-binary dont identify themself as males or females. For them Canada will introduce gender X on passport. I assumed thats the discussion here. I dont get what u dont understand? As someone who identify himself as bisexual, dont u have any idea about other persons in this world who dont identified themself as males or females?

For your *false* problem Use their names. Thats the solution, which I presented to you earlier. If you will get to know that person, you will know what verbs adjectives to use. I dont think that when you will meet a non-binary person, you wont get your answer if you ask what pronouns verbs adjectives to use.

The majority of scientists accept that gender dysphoria is real and the proper treatment is gender change. Your science argument does not work here.

No one has to respect your opinion if your opinion disrespects the lives and identities of a huge group of people who are marginalised.

U made a point, but u also forgot to mention an important thing sweetie: almost 70% of gender dysphoria cases are "solved" during puberty years...where more than 70% start "acting" like their biological sex.... AND , when that's not the case, the proper treatment is gender change TO THE OPPOSITE GENDER, MALE, OR FEMALE, period.  I'm usually a very open-minded person, but c'mon,  are we really gonna start making new genders that dont exist just because socially u fit in both or only one? I mean that's a thing but pleease stop saying there are people who dont feel like neither, that's not a thing.

And i'm curious, if u believe that's a thing, what do you think they are then? lmaooo

Isn't gender just female/male

Even for trans people, they are female or male

So what is an X gender? A mix between female/male genitalia? Cause if you see it in a factual/biological way there are no X genders other than male and female and i'm not talking about psychologically because I see transwoman as just women, transmale as male, so they end up in that category too. I don't know what's the purpose of an X gender

People  fight against  social Social constructionism that gives genders specific traits, ways to be/act,...and then the same people say they're not male or female because they act/feel different....So....we are fighting against social Social constructionism by creating more social Social constructionism?  I would not go to a place that is dangerous for gay people, regardless of what was on my passport, I wouldn't feel safe.

What about this makes is more of a big deal than sexuality? Nothing really, it's just a weird thing to bring up.

I fail to understand what is weird about the concern? :oprah:

If you are an adult and working in executive position, you are bound to travel for your business. Or worse even stationed abroad if they are short handed on their branch office there. I am sure there are plenty of gender neutral people who are working in this position too. Do you really gonna object to your assignment  and risking to be fired,  if this was you, when securing jobs are not that easy these days? :oprah:

Yes I do realize that. I literally posted an example of a gender language...

I also realize that languages evolve and using the fact that a particular language is gendered as a way to disparage transgender people is lazy at best, and bigoted at worst. Only someone who really wishes to disrespect transgender people would say it's not possible to change the way they speak or write.

I am by no means an expert on the subject. But it appears that several answers have been proposed to your question about the Croatian language. (starting on page 92, the section titled "Examples of Feminist and Queer Answers to Heteronormativity in the Language We Use"). Probably the most accepted one would be to just use the masculine version for everyone, but others have been suggested.

No, gender is not just male or female. The same way that sexuality isn't just straight or gay. Gender is a social construct and people can relate to different aspects of masculinity and femininity. It has literally 0 to do with what is (or isn't) between your legs.

In this hypothetical situation, I would not put my life at risk for a job. I don't think that's an unreasonable request to make. I can't easily hide the fact that I am gay, and no job is worth my life.

Let's be clear though, this is an extremely rare situation. Even a short term visit to, say, Russia wouldn't make me fear for my life (though that might not be the case for a transgender person). What's weird is that it applies to more than just transgender people (all LGBT people and sometimes women and sometimes POC or people of certain faiths might also run into this problem) and it's a very rare occurrence, why bring it up?

Thats the problem with this discussion. No one cares or no one should care how you see a person. This is about how they see themself.

Where is the big problem that a very small minority will be able to say gender X on their documents? How does it affect you?

Im surprised to see so much discrimination on gagadaily. Its sad.

If someone wants to put “X” on their passport, fine. Doing so 1) in no way affects you and 2) can help that individual feel legitimized/accepted in another aspect of society.

God forbid trans people actually feel comfortable showing their passports in 2019. :saladga:

I understand and I was only trying to understand where this is coming from. Does not mean I hate these people, I'm just trying to understand, it's new, I'm not a LGBT expert, I don't know every category out here. Don't assume someone has hate in their heart just because they don't understand something unless they say it proud and loud that that it should be banned or that these people are "freaks".

I really don't appreciate people who bash anyone who criticizes or challenge an idea , it doesn't help anybody and it surely won't make these "haters" want to understand if they get "cancelled" immediately

Its clear that there are some people here that are spreading hate.  My last paragraph was in general, not about you.
