You don't have to understand it (I don't really neither) to accept it (I do). Regarding those Youtubers, they dont represent the majority. Remember that we live in a free world and we have the right to have our own opinion. I'm not a homophobe. You just need to find a new way to describe nonbinary people. Latino's have choosen latinx. As opposed to latino and latina.
