Btw why do Vegas fans not record videos? Like I get it, we always preach about how you should enjoy the show and live in the present, but the amount of videos we get from Vegas (each show has 5200 fans attending) is far fewer than those we get from arena shows.

I mean 5200 fans for one night though, I suppose it's not unreasonable to expect at least 20 people who will record it?

There are lots of vids of the entirety of  Enigma. What are you talking about? Are you looking for something specific?

IMO in that video she doesn't trying to sing perfect, she just tries to sing and "speak" in the verses. I think she's tired from dancing and moving on stage because of her disease. Also she is singing for over 10 years and her voice is changed and tired.

Take Mariah as an example, her voice was almost in perfect shape during her "debut" era (1990) but in her "Rainbow" era (1999 - 2000) she was tired, but she was back in her perfect shape for Glitter (2001), Charmbracelet (2002- '03- '04) and TEOM (2005- '06)

Gaga needs a long break, a lot of vocal rest, cut alcohol and smocking and she will be perfect again.

When we're not together tell me everything's gonna be alright

Idk if anyone else has heard this but my vocal coach always said that whenever you do  super vocalistic music and try to switch between that and super poppy, baby voice-y music it's always gonna be straining/you're gonna sound worse in the pop music because your vocal chords are best at that natural depth since you don't have to train to go low like that. It's normal that her pop performances have deteriorated  since she started doing jazz, that's why her Jazz and Piano show sounds absolutely fantastic and Enigma sounds not as fantastic (i think she sounds good for most of the show and you can tell which songs she cares more about DELIVERING for tho)

She should start to transcribe a lot of her music into a different key. Songs like Telephone, Born This Way, etc are clearly too high for her to be singing anymore. It kinda sucks that Shallow popped off so quickly, cause it is really high too. Aside from the performance in the movie, the only vocally "great" performance that she did of Shallow was a one off at the SAP conference.

I think she needs to start doing this, especially cause she’s doing this for the next 2 years, she needs to give herself a break with all the high songs. Besides, it’s not like she didn’t do Telephone in a different pitch before, she still rocked it out and it was perfect :firega:

I noticed that her vocals have sounded more strained for about two years, especially when she sings these pop songs live. Is it worse than before though ? As I remember, she didn't use to fully sing these songs, she was relying on backtracks, catching her breath, singing lower or talking, or wouldn't hit the notes at the beginning of her career. Now she has more skills, she's almost singing the whole song and doing some adlibs. It doesn't always sound good as she is tired and moving a lot at the same time. I noticed she sounded more nasal in her belts though.

She has also been trying to incorporate some falsettos these last years, which I don't think sound as good as her belts.

On the other hand, the dramatic and artistic quality of her voice has improved a lot. I know a lot of people here don't like that, but she sounds great on her lower notes and when she's conveying an emotion. In her Your Song rendition for example, even the beginning of the song makes my heart melt. And the verses of Shallow at the Oscars, she's so easily putting her emotions in her voice, she wasn't doing this a few years ago, not like this.

She's had a busy year, I'm not surprised that she sounds tired at times. But obviously she's fine because she's doing AMAZING riffs in LoveGame and Poker Face, especially on May 30th.

I actually really like the newer lower and better tone in her voice from these past years, it started with ARTPOP, but I can’t help but feel like it’s starting to take effect on her vocal chords in a somewhat negative way, at least for Enigma and Shallow, I hope she can take care of her voice for a little while

Well I know for a fact she mentioned once Jazz is lower and quieter for her which is why it might be easier and sound better maybe?

Pop music is almost like ... too simple it becomes difficult for someone like Gaga if that makes sense. Pop tends to have a lot of bad technique into it almost purposefully so people who have vocals tend to add different techniques and influences. In Gaga’s case it’s musical theatre, rock, and jazz. And iv been hearing her jazz influence once enigma recently. Maybe the past few shows she’s making sure her voice is clear enough for J&P :koons:

I dunno ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

She needs to stop smoking and drinking alcohol or she'll end up like Mariah in her 40's.

I hate comments like this because they imply a woman shouldn't enjoy her f*cking life because other people think she should preserve a certain body part for their consumption
