Why is Taylor Swift so popular?

Sticking to safe, relatable topics has served her well. I could say that I wish she'd sing about them in a more interesting way but then, it seems the public like this straightforward style. I just don't know how many albums about breakups one can take. Granted, her last two albums stepped away from that and this one will too, obviously, as she's been with the same guy since the last one, but up until 1989, her topic choice was so samey and was beyond predictable. I just don't get why this same style sold as long as it did. One break-up album, fair enough, but back-to-back ones would have bored me as a fan. But hey, some people like that. But what I can't understand is why so many people want to see her live. She isn't an overly good singer, musician, dancer or general performer, so why does she sell out stadiums? There have been much better artists throughout history that never commanded the live audience she does. Even Mariah Carey was never much of a touring act, despite millions loving her voice and buying her albums. So, what does Taylor have that these better performers don't? But if nothing else, the fact her attitude doesn't put more people off really surprises me. This obsessions with taking people to court, going to war with Spotify and Apple Music, not putting her album up for streaming, demanding top dollar for concerts, playing guessing games about who her latest break up song's about, calling out sexism where none exists and saying women should be standing together while simultaneously bashing Katy Perry in a hit single, constantly playing the victim in all different respects to win public sympathy and sales...her personality has never appealed to me and I'm shocked that more people don't see this and continue to claim she's so nice. Maybe in interview, but her actions say otherwise.
