All of this 'payola is illegal' is *totally* untrue. 

Work in any business sector of the entertainment industry and you will have an understanding of payola. 

Sure, it takes many forms and there are many loopholes to avoid the legalities of it - but if payola is defined as 'cash' for 'exposure', *of course* it exists.

Im very divided on the ethical implications of Payola...from a business point of view i think its no different from performing your song on  tv and making interviews. Your music is your product, and you have to promote it one way or another 🤷🏼‍♂️. From a social point of view, if you rely heavily on payola then you are not really obtaining an organic hit. I think its ok to use it but not to such extent like Scooter Baurn does
