Yeah im talking about learning. The book says christianity is a sin so why would you hang a flag about homosexuality on the church? im not saying its not acceptable, im gay and I love acceptance of the Gay community, im just confused about it.

I think you're confused in more ways than one, hun.

But anyway, there is also a major difference between the old and the new testaments. You might need to start checking those out since, I think, that would really answer your question why homosexuality is acceptable within the Christian (Catholic) community.

Here's it simplified. 

Every single Christian believes differently. So the organizations can believe differently as well. 

The idea that Christians, Catholics, what have you, follow, or even have read the Bible, to the letter is silly.

Well if you ask any Christian about homosexuality, they will tell you its a sin. I also just googled and it says christianity is against homosexuality. You said the Christian community is accepting of Gays but thats not true, I was speaking about specific churches that support gays.

Basically. That's the way with all religions. I know Wiccans who don't believe in the rule of three. There's probably Hindus and Buddhists who don't believe in reincarnation. 

Also, like I said, many Christians probably have never read the Bible full or have even touched book of Revelations.

I understand having different interpretations but you have to have an explanation. Saying you dont take the bible literally and you can make up stuff does not make sense to me.

Hun, that bolder statement is absolutely false. Idk where you live, but Christians don’t say that, nor would they publicly ridicule you of being one. The majority of Christians and Catholics are very accepting of the gays.

It’s not exactly about having different interpretations. The Christians and the Catholics live their life learning from the Bible. The Bible doesn’t dictate how they should live.

So what? Many things that Catholics do contradict what they believe in/should believe in. 

It's also a sin to eat shellfish, for men to cut their hair, for people to wear clothing of different materials together, etc. The bible also allows slavery.

This is why I have a problem with the Church as a whole. I'm Catholic, but I'm also gay. I don't believe that if I'm a good and faithful person in this life that if I go to Heaven, God will just say "yeah, you're good and all, but you're gay so I'm sending you to eternal hellfire."

This. I was raised as a catholic and as I was growing up I find that I didn’t agree with a lot of things about the church. I began to feel better when I talked to someone who said most stories in the Bible are meant to be interpreted as metaphors for lessons in life. It made me feel better. 

It was another time with other values and less knowledge about science and mental health so I don’t know why the church still doesn’t accept people for who they are but does not condone barbaric behaviors like sacrifice and stoning people anymore.

So, yeah, I still consider myself a catholic but when in doubt I go by this: love one another as I have loved you. If they won’t accept me anymore because I chose to accept others then so be it. I still think I’m right.
